Is bct losing all credibility by fud and scammers? ...edit: i changed the word with to by

Ive been  here since 2013 and it has reached a point that this site is used to talk down any project that a person is not involved with.

no wonder projects are moving to slack...

thoughts?

i still see people investing in bitcoin with no attention to all that crap, drama, and FUD that is going around. and also i still see businesses big and small still accepting bitcoin without attention to any of the above, also price has been rising for over a year consistantly so i guess it is pretty safe to say bitcoin has the credibility it had and it is still growing.


i am so interested to see some example of these projects that was "talked down"

I am not aware of any valid FUD around bitcoin itself asides the Chinese government planning to ban bitcoins which turned out to be false.

Bitcoin is crypto currency,bitcoin is not the one to blame here but people who are using it in a wrong way I don't think it will lose credibility,the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

That is because most of the projects are scams. Even Ethereum itself could be a scam. It is not a scam yet but we will see what will happen in 10 years time. That platform has scalability problems, blockchain bloat problems and if they scale up the dapps will have difficulty in functioning well because every node must save the state. If there are millions of transactions you will see how difficult it will be to have a good functiong dapp.

The people here at altcoins forum are usually scamming themselves into believing that the project they support will be used by the mainstream.

Off the top of my head we would have to say two major identifiers..

1) Intent (nearly impossible to prove unless the "team" slips up)

2) The fallback common method is.. design.

If a coin FUNCTIONS like a rigged, unfair, improperly handled, poorly thought out, NON-Currency used for nothing but profit then it is in fact a SCAM.

A scam is easy to tell because it is simply HOW IT WORKS.

I doubt your man on the street has ever heard of Bitcointalk or the constant scams on this forum. 

I suspect most of the news people had heard was MtGox stealing a fortune and weird back-alley / coffee shop robberies of Bitcoin sellers.  Also the SilkRoad too if I hadn't already mentioned that.

The issues is that when you  oppose the view or opinion of others, they will call you a FUDters, but people want more information from most of  the so called developers but you later find out they can even justified their claims,  FUD happens on slack channels too it is not perculiar to BCT

wading through all the noise is a pain in the ass but many projects do deserve to be roasted for being dishonest piles of crap.

There are several that i seen,  actually almost all popular cryptocurrency are being "talked down"  or fudded.  To give an example, you can try to read about Vcash, Dash, Monero, Nxt, and many more.  This Fudding is done to get more coins at a very cheap price before some pump is about to begin of if they found this kind of altcoin is promising.

i think you mean etheruem or zcash, because bitcoin is the most legit here, the only issue is chian controlling the mining activity too much, and maybe also the market activity with their pump and dump

There is also another trend I am noticing. The projects and their development teams are losing credibility because of their own actions. There will be an ultimate disillusionment after the biggest platform is left and turned out to be scam that was created by a scammer. Yes I am talking about Ethereum. When I first knew about Vitalik I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. That he was unaware of what he is doing because of his forward thinking nature. Now I am slowly beginning to suspect that he might be really aware of what he is doing and he knew that it was all a scam right from the very beginning.

I think what do you mean is btc and not bct, i don't think so because if bitcoin was losing all of credibility bitcoin users will be decrease but bitcoin users always growing up although there are many issue fud and scam related bitcoin.

The main problem is that most of the people who contribute to BTC no longer hang out in this forum. The signal to noise ratio is way too low to have any meaningful discussion. So what's left are the scammers and the spammers.
