Poloniex has margin trading and you can place stop orders so that's similar to short trading I guess.
Idk if any of the exchanges actually has implemented short selling.

I usually don't short sell any Altcoins. Have you checked out poloniex? also check out deribit  https://www.deribit.com/ (https://www.deribit.com/)

Poloniex will be a preferred option because they have margin trading where they borrow you a few alts to sell - but be careful, you do not sell at a loss.

Sure there a few exchanges out there you can do so.
I'm using Poloniex and Bitmex for that.
On Bitfinex I think you can also short Ethereum.
There could be a few more out there. But bitmex and poloniex are very much known and mostly used by the trading community. So try your luck with these two I would say.

these are dark days for altcoins, i opened up my exchange this morning and saw all the list was red percentages! everything is going down. and that is why i have unloaded all i had.

although times like this can be good times to make some profits from drops and the bounce backs but i don't recommend it because of the higher risk it has while dropping.

Not actually  a dark day  hence these  are  just  normal  things to  happen  on a certain time   but  as we all know that  it  doesn't  happen  anytime  and  most  of them  would surely  back  up its price. I do  observe that too  that  most of  coins  now are  on reds and  I suspect because of the sudden  price increase  of bitcoins. Back to topic, there are  lots  of  of good  altcoins which  you could actually  do make short  trades  like  ETH, XMR.

There are too many short positions on altcoins. If there is a turn on altcoin prices it will be a sharp strike.

Kraken is also a good option for shorting altcoins.  I personally do short sells only on Poloniex and Kraken and it's what I would advice newbies to use.  Kraken allows you to short ETC and REP which are not available for short selling at Poloniex.  The only think which I don't like with Kraken is the platform is hard to understand.  I hope they make it easier for the sake of their users.

I recommend to select poloniex and bittrex, best trading and trust websites as my favorite place to buy, sell and hold variety of bitcoin and altcoin.

Poloniex or Kraken.

And IMO it is not worth it 9/10 times. Markets are very young but sometimes an opportunity comes along that is too good to pass up on.

Short selling altcoins is very dangerous as a large pump will wipe you up in a blink of an eye. Many of the altcoins that are being offered in margin trading are not really profitable in my opinion. They move too slow and you would have to sit in your position before you have a chance of seeing profit. Poloniex is one of the best place to short as it has one of the best interface.

i think you didn't understand the last part of what i said. let me clarify it by saying i think even when prices are dropping you can still short trade altcoins and make profit but in a market like that it becomes more risky because prices are going down, and if you miss your sell spot on the bounce back you are screwed because the fall will continue and you will end up either bag holding or selling at a bigger loss.

Depends on the parameter you prefer.Interest rates, options, leverage percentage?

For me the most important thing is safety, so I divide among different exchanges.Still Poloniex is my favorite...

yes. Poloniex is my favourite too. i do margin trading there. Its very smooth and without any problems.

Bitmex too actually
Bitmex is based in Hong Kong, China. I tend to be weary of Chinese exchanges and the rate at which they get hacked is a bit higher than exchanges in the West.

The problem is that you cannot short sell the ZCash there.

You can short sell Zcash because of the low liquidity, if allowed the price manipulation will be too strang and the whales will  be moving the price the way they want
