[apologies if repost!]

I was enjoying it until the very end where his summary of reasoning was based on "and maybe this will happen, and I don't think it should, so bitcoin will fail ALRIGHT!?". It read like a butthurt latecomer to be honest and I think I threw up in my mouth a little.

yeah itz kinda funny how it is fashionable among some neoliberals to downplay bitcoin.

most of these types keep a little backdoor open though, in case some later face saving will be necessary.

like Krugman made a real fool of himself.

@OP just because history indicates something, doesnt mean you can predict the future 100% accurately.

OP failed so hard.

just because governments invented the internet doesn't mean it isn't a good tool for dissenters of authoritarian structures to use it

just because kings invented coinage doesn't mean it isn't a good tool for dissenters of authoritarian structures to re-invent it and use it.

The article is only a more elaborated version of the "deflationary currency can't work"-argument.

If history tells anything it is that states all over the world have shown that they are constantly eager to abuse their power to inflate state-controlled currencies with severe economical and social consequences.

This article: how to do a nice package around a topic that has been discussed again and again.
how to make me look like serious when i'm just, well anybody.
I can sum up the article with his own words
Quote
Here’s where a state could easily step in by just … printing more money, so that economic activity is not choked off by scarcity or hoarding.
here is a fantastic solution to the money problem from the author, we'll see who likes when gov print money very soon.
author credibility -= 5000

The 'economist' cited is a chartalist. Go figure.
