Title: Birds by Bitcoin.com
Post by: apoorvlathey on November 12, 2016, 11:06:38 AM
Has anyone used https://birds.bitcoin.com/
It is a twitter promo service that pays for retweeting. I have logged into the site, but when i retweet a post, it gets retweeted but i still encounter an error: Your reward is too small to be sent to the blockchain. You need to get more followers!

What is the min. amount of followers needed ?
Also why is the site trying to send btc directly to blockchain. I think they should store the bitcoins on the only and set a payout limit.

Mind reading the FAQ section of the website ? That should explain all your queries. After reaching a minimum payout limit ,you will be asked for the bitcoin address to which the coins are directly sent from the website .So not sending enough coins to the block chain does make sense when your payout amounts are lower than the tx fees.

I have already read the faq page. It says that :
Quote
Sponsors set payouts per 100 Twitter followers. If you have less than 100 Twitter followers the reward for retweeting may be too low to be sent to the blockchain.
I already have 1500+ followers on my twitter account, but still receive this error.
Also, I get this error when i retweet any post and not when i withdraw, and the balance too remains zero .

since your balance is remaining zero there might be a bug in their system or they may have rejected your account or retweet, try finding a support or contact link and contact the website owners to ask for a solution.

also it may be possible that the sponsor (advertiser) had set a very low amount of payout which makes your payment 15 * small amount = dust so they are not paying.

They ask to add bitcoin address before you can make any retweet and after than if you have lower amount of followers they just say payout is very small amount so can't be sent on blockchain.

actually found they have listed this question in their faq page here https://birds.bitcoin.com/about two times  ;D

Sponsors set payouts per 100 Twitter followers. If you have less than 100 Twitter followers the reward for retweeting may be too low to be sent to the blockchain. This means that the transaction fees required for sending the transaction to the blockchain are higher than the reward you would receive for retweeting. If you gain more Twitter followers then the amount you would be rewarded for retweeting any given message will increase; once you reach a number of followers that will grant you a sufficient reward you will be able to retweet the message.

However reward amount look quite confusing as some even have 7750 bits in reward (don't know for how much followers) but i don't think a transaction with 7750 bits can be considered as dust payment. I think they are still working on this issue, and may come up with some solution or answer.

i have twitter more than 100 followers and if this sites working well i shouldn't be have problem with that and because each transactions minus fee 100 bits that mean reetweet reward should be more than 100 bits but looks like it doesn't working well and always get an error message or perhaps this service only available for particular countries and my country are excluded

It looks a bug. Because on their FAQ, they say the minimum followers would be about 100. Low amount of followers, and you have 1500 or more...

I think this service should add a balance in site, so we could withdraw when we want with the amount we want.

I'll check the site out and it seems like a pretty good one. Bitcoin.com have been really developing their site over the past few months and seeing it together is excellent. Hopefully this can bring more people to using bitcoin and also check out their buy bitcoin with credit card page, I think it is right now the easiest way to buy bitcoins with a credit card, without any verifications.

I tried the site too, I have more than 100 followers and the same message appeared when i retweet the message.  I don't know if this is a bug or done intentionally.   I checked the payment system and seems there is a slider on how much they want to pay with a minimum of 1 bit .  Anyway I hope this error will be fixed soon.

I have tried the site, I have 400+ followers. And I have already re-tweeted one of the listed tweet, but same pop-up as OP showed, and I tried to refresh the site, tweet which I have been re-tweeted is successful, but my balance still zero :-\

I think the answer is obvious, the site is a scam site getting retweets for free. Normally your balance should be paid to your account, not directly to the blockchain.

Did you try contact their support if anything like that is available with them. Honestly I never avail any of services which are being offered by bitcoin.com (after their few FUDs against theymos and bitcointalk).
Moreover those rewards for re-tweeting has started at least some six months back (as per this discussion), hence I doubt they are still into it.

As I have tried, you will get paid after 24 hours. Although am also a newbie in that site and havent got anything yet. Lets see what happens, I have completed most of the tasks and retweeted the offers. Will post the payouts here again tomorrow.

Will definitely try this out. So basically this is some sort of social media campaign, but it is automated unlike what we have here on the forums? That what I have assessed from my reading here.

Though OP is right, there are plenty of things that are unclear here. Maybe we could send a support ticket to them and know once and for all.

Details about this service can be found here: https://birds.bitcoin.com/about (https://birds.bitcoin.com/about)

Read especially these two sections: "How to promote a tweet and "How to earn money by re-tweeting'.
For some hardcore twitter users with thousands of followers this might be a good way to earn money.
Everyone else will gain nothing here. It will be faucet level income.

Looks like it needs 100 up to 200 followers this is maybe the minimum.. so if you have low followers you can never receive the payment for this task that is why he is receiving error like not sending payment on blockchain due to low amount of followers..
So i think he needs to get more followers due to high miners fee increase he needs  more followers to pay you more just for miners fee and receive your earnings.. since bitcoin is increasing  a lots are affected even the small business are affected due to miners fee increase ..

I did not find any support contact. They keep promoting tweets to be sent, so I think people keep depositing BTCs so they can have their messages retweeted. With over 10,000 followers, it seems like I am a clear example that this is unfortunately not working.

The site was working half a year ago but last few months they did not pay my account for the RT's.
Now I cannot login with Twitter, even if possible the site does not pay.

Anyhow I think they are still in experimental stage. They best can keep it simple and payout for the amount of followers.
RT's based on a chance to win a tiny fraction does not appeal to anyone. They simply want their fair share.

I believe that they just stopped working after someone found out and posted on reddit how Roger Ver and co were paying users to retweet and like their tweets against UASF and Core.

They stopped paying a long time ago. First of all their pay was like faucets and on that it was real slow website, for me atleast. Trying them now would be a waste of time to everyone.
