A friend and I got in around $5. You know those times the price just keeps going up? It's exciting, you want to talk about it, but there's not really anything to say?  Enter - the Bitcoin Rally Song.

It's hosted on bandcamp, so you can pay whatever you like. Really, he's more interested in contributing something back to an awesome community.

I've talked the creator into joining bitcointalk. Once he's cleared newbie status, I expect he'll have a few more things to say about it. Until then...enjoy!

Whenever I play the Bitcoin Rally Song, the price
goes up.   - 60 (36.6%)
goes down.   - 24 (14.6%)
stays put.   - 18 (11%)
starts a new rally.   - 18 (11%)
kills an already-in-progress rally.   - 44 (26.8%)

If memory serves, up to this point the Rally correctly predicted 3 of 5 rallies, with its two failures being the 3rd and 5th calls.

The first time I played it was the night bitcoin was around 110, and I woke up to it in the 140s. I am now forever and hopelessly superstitious.

Got it playing on loop now. We cracked $150. How high will she go on this upleg?
Well, that depends. On how long we let the Rally Song play!!!

I like it, I think an instrumental song is better suited to bitcoin.

FWIW, I agree with you. An instrumental can loop at work, or any other time. A great way to throw the flag to fellow Bitcoiners :-)

I'm newly registered too, I think if a mod sees something that's worth moving they move it, but as this is somewhat of funny bullish off-topic, you could just post it somewhere else again I think.

Thank you! In most of my music (what's on Bandcamp and what I do with other groups), melody is very much not the focus. It's fun to challenge myself with a primarily melodic piece.

Not at all. I believe in the long-term viability of Bitcoin, and my song was composed in that spirit. I doubt we're ever going to see those single digits the proudhon song insists will be coming "soon" (since April of last year...).

I read the Proudhon song as pure satire.  Every time the price starts to rise, I can't get it out of my head.  (If you don't see what I mean, play it when we hit $5000 and yell "It's only a BUBBLE!" triumphantly at the appropriate point.)

However, I didn't realize that you had composed that other song.  I'll quit screwing with your thread. 

I wish I would have read it as satire from the get-go, because it's definitely more enjoyable that way!  ;D

Well, the Bitcoin Rally Song hasn't failed yet.
In fact, of the three calls to arms, two were within days of the mega-rallies to $266, and $1242.
Check the thread history, it's almost spooky.

4/5/13, $110 --> $140 overnight, rallied to $266.
8/13/13, $100 --> $120, the most modest of all rallies.
10/11/13, $127 --> $1242, starting the mother of all rallies

It's time to go to the well for the fourth time.

Alongside the Rally Song, there is the Slump Song (don't you dare think about playing that right now!), and of course, Mt. Gox Erupting.
Now that there is _some_ path forward defined, with Kraken taking the reins, I find the song stings less, and is more nostalgic.

I like to sing, but usually only in front of friends. I'm not as talented as Orymh vocally - he's a vocalist in a couple of bands.
