Title: Bit-x.com Bitcoin Debit card Doubts.
Post by: letyouearn on November 16, 2016, 03:25:56 AM
Hello guys,  I want to clear my couple of doubts about Bit-x ( CoinsBank ) Bitcoin Debit Card which was provided by them while running their Signature Campaign. Now, they changed their Brand name to " CoinsBank ". I Still own that Debit card . I haven't activated it yet.

I want to know that if I will try activating it now . Will it work ? I have checked their website.  They have many types of debit card now , I.e, Prepaid debit card,  virtual card,  Plastic debit card.

So , Can I still use the same debit card or I have to order the latest one ?

Hopefully their brand name change will not affect the expiry of your card.
Every debit/credit card comes with expiry month and year. If your card has not crossed those time, it must be able to be activated even by now. Did you try contact their customer support ? https://coinsbank.com/support .

I see no reason why you can not activate and still use the card. Provided it has not expired, it is still valid - a change of name has no effect on its validity.

@OP: Also may try contact through their service discussion topic here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=874312.0

Some debit services comes with limited time to activate to prevent any possible fraudulent activities with unsold cards.

Your problem seems very peculiar as no one will wait long time to activate their card even after receiving it. I guess only their support may get you the right solution.

I think you can activate this card without problem. They change only the name, rest is this same as was before.

If you still have doubts, you can order Cryptopay Bitcoin debit card for free, you just have to find their giveaway thread here on forum - i'm using their service almost year without problems.

Ps.
I just don't know what is the difference between "Prepaid Debit Card" and "Plastic Debit Card"? Is not that the same thing?

Why don't you try and see it yourself? Our word about the matter won't change a thing. You either try it yourself or ask coinsbank's customer service.

I feel taking opinions of experts or experienced user of coinsbank is necessary . So, I opened this thread to get some useful suggestions from them.

If your card is still on the valid date, let's try for activating your card. I guess even a lot of the kind of card. You must have tried that, and I suppose that will be work well.
We know if the card still at the valid date.

Okey. So either ask customer support directly or check /browse through their site and see if they have any time limit for card activation. If they do not, then I think it's more likely that it will still work as long as the card is still valid/not expired. Rebranding doesn't really matter so long as the card is still valid, they'd have to honor it.
And if you ask support and for some reason, they say you need a new card because of the rebrand, you could see if they're willing to send you a new one and you swap the one you have.
Anyway, the only way you'll know for sure is if you ask them directly.

It will still work, but at one stage they will replace that card with the re branded version. Did they not send you a email or communicate these changes to you? Have you tried to activate it, or are you hesitant for other reasons? Their customer support will give you all the details, once you activate the card.

The communication might just have gone out to people who have activated their cards. ^hmmmm^

If you have even slight shadow of doubt then you shouldn't use this service. You will be perfectly fine without bitcoin debit card.

What I know about CoinsBank's service:

1. They don't offer a virtual card only real plastic one, it will cost 0.13BTC
2. They have the smallest fee, which is 0.5% BTC to FIAT conversion.
3. The account needs to be verified, and there are limits.
4. Their ATM fees are bad, ranging from $3.9 up to $9
5. They charge inactivity fees.
