Hey everyone,

I have just started college doing software development so am new to all this. I am just wondering why there are not more bitcoin related sites out there that are bitcoin related ? I always thought of bitcoin to be a well supported thing and when I look at crowdfunding sites or bitcoin lotto sites they are of very poor quality. Why has no one decided to take these further and build something the bitcoin community can be proud of ?

I realise there is a lot of scamming involved in the bitcoin world but surely a trusted person on here or within the community could build such sites ?

Also I am very excited about learning to code and would love any tips on how to improve. It would
be greatly appreciated so in the future I could be part of something special and develop a
project with other like minded people :)

You are right but i think there is need a very talented person in the site coding world and there should be also a help of money for him . because one can create a high quality and high priority site but he needs advertisement .

True. It would be great to back someone like this that everyone can trust and agree on. It is projects like these that can push bitcoin to the next level. I better get learning so I can help  :)

Where is uncertainty, there is possibility of scammers so that in bitcoin. Bitcoin’s future is bright in my opinion but it’s going to take some contribution from us (the community members). We should build awareness about bitcoin and keep promoting good things and it will automatically reduce the chances of scams because more and more newbies will be aware of what’s good and what’s not.

Are you talking about design of those crowdfunding sites or their success rate? You can check https://bnktothefuture.com/search/pitches there are many bitcoin/blockchain related projects listed which have gained millions of seed money through crowdfunding.

Scams are everywhere to not get scammed everybody have to use their own brains rather than trying to get lured by unexpectedly high return those scams talks about.

You can look at bitcoin whitepaper here https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf to understand what actually is bitcoin and how transactions work. As bitcoin is open source you can also play with bitcoin codebase if you want or to learn or add some feature to it.

If you're looking for something was made proud of bitcoin community, the answer was referring to the blockchain system. Too many crowdfunding of lotto site just not care about that. Early development was becoming the right answer for them.

Programming is not easy. I know you want to come up with something that can be helpful specially on those bitcoin users. The developer of some website already done with their part. If you think that the site was too poor, i don't know if you are talking about the Graphical User Interface of the site or whats so on, i think they are already proud of the site they are created. Your just new right? so you have to prove yourself first before judging the developers or programmer of other bitcoin sites you saw.

not every members on this forum can do programming language like building sites because we are come from many profession and to be a programmer, i think its need to learn some basic programming language like html, css, php and other. but i am sure that in out there, many people which come into bitcoin industry and have a good skill will make a good website related with bitcoin. and maybe they will stay under radar to see the growth of bitcoin.

there are still so many sites, projects that are good and are designed in a good way by trusted and expert people around. i think you have not yet seen those. but i agree that there is a lack of new and good projects around, specifically some things that are really needed.

for example i have always wanted to see a big site like ebay but something that is only working with bitcoin. there is OpenBazaar but it is not yet popular.

The bitcoin has been around for quit a while now but the lack of support by governments made developpers and investors lose interest of it until very recently the fact that most government made it ileagal shows that they are afraid of it because they can not contain it and the fact that it has became something used for scamming and a way for drug dealers and hackers to make money without being able to track them down shows that it is a double edged sword,but now most of the investors have realized that governments can not control the bitcoin so I think  in the near future we will see a big change in the way that pepole look at bitcoin and starting by bank accounts take for example Nettler that started accepting it as a way to fund your account which opens a lot of windows to developers.

Yes openbazaar is really a good project however they are still struggling to get adoption just like bitcoin used to struggle on early days.

Including openbazaar there are also many concepts based on peer to peer, blockchain are on their way of development like decentralized cloud storage, decentralize internet, decentralize peer to peer lending etc.

There is no sin in starting small, most of these site don't want to research and develop anything before coming out for ICO funding. The crypto world is still evolving and survival of the fittest will come to play soon and the best out of them will come out great

We have a Cameltoe situation in Bitcoin, because the community is split in half. ^smile^ The one side wants huge scalability with big blocks and the other side wants to scale as it grows. While these two groups fight it out, the R3 group of banks and other Blockchain fans are developing private ledger systems to compete with Bitcoin.

We will have to see if Bitcoin will survive with all the Billions being dumped into Blockchain alternatives. ^hmmmmm^

Its very nice of u to share this idea and with ur ideas and effort we can make a beautiful future with bitcoins and u have motivated me to do programming at a whole new level .i am a college student maybe i l be a help sometimes.

In my opinion, there are not that many Bitcoin-related sites or anything similar because of the smaller community that is actually involved with the dissemination of information and actually talking about it, rather then just investing in it or whatever. A majority of the sites that currently exist also have a large market share of the viewship, and there isn't a ton of space for new blogs or sites or forums or whatever to break in to.

For example, this forum is probably the biggest Bitcoin forum and not many people go anywhere else.

The hope never dies and I'm optimist that in the near future we will have more freedom and use bitcoin mostly everywhere.
Currently we are very limited to spend our bitcoin and because of this there are many scam using third party things/service and paying additional fees.

The problem is the lack of people interested in investing with a long-term vision. Most people who try to open a website, claiming to run a Bitcoin business, they do it with the intention of making a quick profit, with the money of inexperienced users. That's why there are so many scams in crypto. When more real entrepreneurs come along, things will change.

Bitcoin and more broadly the blockchain technology is absolutely the future of financial system. Many banks are preparing the revolution of this. In future years the banking system will undergo a revolution with blockchain.

Certainly financial and banking industry will change big due to blockchain technology, but it will not be the only industry, insurance, contract, stock trading, even document keeping etc can all use blockchain technologies.

actually there are two types of investors the short term investors and the long term investors, the short term investor have mostly little amount  of bitcoins and therefore they invest their money for short period of  time, while in long term investment the investors must have a good amount of money so that after a long time they can get a good profit.

bitcoin future will be more shine and bitcoin will be more strong in the future and i hope we can be use our bitcoin in anywhere for direct shopping and i think that government will be also adopt it.

as people are becoming more busy as compare to previous ages, so it is the demand of the modern age to have online currency so that that can be use for online buying and selling. so we can say that blockchain can fulfill these demands therefore blockchain is the future of financial system.

While initiating a website related to bitcoin and other digital currencies investment is much important. Based upon that the site gets improved features. Now very few were aware of bitcoin as well other digital currencies. So now with small investment with basic necessities sites were created. Eventually gets updated, because most users here were not with big backing. Every one tries to earn some more for their better living.

yes all require the process to be known very widely bitcoin. it's been a lot of progress which could increase the price of bitcoin. has a lot of places to contribute in the development of bitcoin.

Simply, Bitcoin seems gold now, it's very useful for all people to invest or gamble with anonymous functions.
and it will be a central digital currency for the altcoins. so you should be careful when investing with bitcoin.

I do agree that there needs more to be available bitcoin related but know everything costs money and people usually put their skills to develop scam coins. who really should do it? it's a currency not a carnival :D.

Main issue in bitcoin programming is in security, and then UI. Good UI without security is useles

It would be greatly appreciated if guys like you that have passion and dedication in the improvement of this community have an idea like this. Like you said you are still learning and I wish that along the way don't get blinded by money be a good programmer that help bitcoiners, this community, and ordinary people collaborate and help each other as a whole.

I really appreciate your efforts in appreciating this young geek because we need more passionate programmers like his to keep the scammers at the bay to make bitcoin scam free and this will win trust of more people and even they will start using bitcoin which will benefit our bitcoin community and even i am surprised to see there are many people out there who wants to be a programmer and designer for bitcoin itself which was not the case before 2 years.

This guy should really be appreciated because one of the problem that we are facing today is the lack of belief in what we do. Yeah, some people make money using Bitcoin but even tho they are making money with it, there are still doubters, naysayers there about Bitcoin. Sad to think but this is the truth. I rarely see people these days that has the guts to take on something that is unsure. And I think these is what we need, this is what we lack instead of pulling down each others.

Well I hope so else they are bound to be outdone by Bitcoin in the future. The banks should integrate Bitcoin and blockchain into their setting and help make it better rather than go against it.

Bitcoin future is very bright. just go through the figure of btc how well it has progressed, main reason is decentralized, crypto-currency, very secured and best profit on the investment. also the transaction charges on btc is very less comparatively to the banks. more people are joining now a days on btc which is a good sign for the better future.

The thing is, the current sites have down every well for those who own them, and due to the fact that the masses haven't shown up yet means that they have been able to get away with sites that just meet the mark.  i totally agree by the way there is alot of room for improvement and fresh young eyes coming into the scene is always welcome....... :)

but i think that banks will happy as they will become able to get good profit from bitcoin as transaction fee, but still they can only if government will  accept bitcoin because most of the banks works under the supervision of banks.

The OP is right. There are not so many sites or projects involving bitcoin. I am not telling its not there. Its there.But not that much. The only reason behind this is bitcoin is not that popular. Nowadays its getting more popular because of its price and more people started using bitcoins. And because of that in near future, we can expect more projects or sites based on bitcoin.

The attitudes of some countries to bitcoin are flexible,and also can pay with bitcoin.Now blockchain is widely doveloped.I think it will go well.

Well one of the more active portion of the bitcoin community seems to be the darknet portion, explains the lack of sites on the normal web. But I wouldn't call it lacking though, since now you can buy stuff off amazon using bitcoin services

That's right. The projects which involve bitcoin mostly come from the crypto world and it's the kinda normal thing that bitcoin is involved but if you're looking for many projects which are outside this crypto world you'll rarely find some that are involving bitcoin or at least use bitcoin as crowdfunding payment method or any kind of these.
Unfortunately, people still prefer to use Paypal or credit card to invest onto many projects nowaday.

I think that's inevitable. Bitcoin still is not known to most people of the world, whatever we on this forum might think. I constantly encounter people who barely heard of it although they are not from the uneducated part of the population. But time will come and they will know. So, yeah, the future of Bitcoin is bright.

it is different in different countries though.
in some of them bitcoin is everywhere or at least seems like it from afar. for example in Switzerland you can buy bitcoin from any bus or train ticket station and even if you don't know what bitcoin is you at least have heard of it. and that is actually why the adoption rate is different in different countries too.

I agree, many people see that the bitcoin has a bright future that is why they keep investing in it and buy and save it hoping that in the future they become wealthy from it, and that makes its price go even beyond what we have imagined 2 years earlier when the price was below $300 levels and now look at where it has come.

Op, I don't know if you searched correctly but we already have massive bitcoin powered gambling businesses.
Visit bitcointalk's gambling section to see how many project are present there. Unfortunately lottery is not that popular among bitcoin users.
They prefer different kind of games, for now Dice is the most popular bitcoin game.

The reason we don't have many bitcoin powered crowdfunding sites and existing ones are no popular is simple.
It is very hard to raise money in bitcoin, investors expect revenue from early stage cryptocurrency projects.
This already created an environment that is difficult to properly raise money for anything other than ICO.

Right now it is like you said, I agree, but in the fututre every country will be like Switzerland in regard to Bitcoin. Swiss government is just smarter than others today, that's all. I've also heard that The Netherlands and Denmark are Bitcoin-friendly, and probably some others. So it's just the matter of time IMO.
