I agree totally, I predicted Bitcoin will hit $1000 USD this year in the same post in which I (correctly) predicted the day BTC would hit $100 USD.

I think Proud has thousands of BTC. I can't imagine him trolling so much about the price having no coins. He would of left ages ago.

I don't think $1000 is that much of a stretch this year (Even though in January I thought $100 was unattainable this year lol). Just wait until we get some big well known companies that use Bitcoin in a huge way.

Case in point: PokerStars...

They have everything to gain if they start accepting it.  There is no logical reason why they shouldn't.  I understand big companies need time to implement changes like this, so that's why I give them 6 months from today.  If they haven't implemented it by then I will be surprised and a little disappointed.

My first cash out point was initially $80, which I thought was around 1+ years away, now I'm thinking my first cash out point is 6 months after PokerStars implements Bitcoin :P.  Anything before that just seems like Bitcoin isn't being used to its fullest potential.

That's what I am waiting for too. Has someone approached them yet?

nice call.. we should adopt the mBTC as base value before 2014 within the community.. I'll aim at that train of tought !

Lots of people already calling them Millies (for milli-Bitcoin). mBTC works well as the symbol.

I've just been saying milli-bit. The coin part at the end is too much work.  :D

i agree there will be volatility but the fundamentals for bitcoin are up over the long term (years). My OP was 8 months from now.

Lets wait until the next correction before we gauge a value a year down the line.

How about an uncertain regulatory future, all the effort they've put into looking legit and fight money laundering then associating with an untraceable currency, having to deal with stolen (or not) BTC being traced to their wallets and someone demanding it back, exchange rate wilder than an angry bull making it highly risky to allow any tournament play since their $2.20 buyin could be worth $.50 or $4 two hours later? How about trying to figure out rake?

Not that there's not positives, but I can think of plenty of logical reasons why they wouldn't. Just sayin'.

Well they could use BitPay so users Bitcoins would immediately turn into fiat money.

They are also very stringent about how they allow you to cash out under the banner of anti-money laundering. How could they let you anonymously cash out and still say that with a straight face?
