I would personally be surprised if you are able to find the address, I would doubt that anyone would have their public address written down and even then it is more than likely spread out among multiple public addresses to try and remove a lot of the tracking people (like you) can do.

If it isn't listed in the first few dozen pages of google results, it likely doesn't exist.

this news is 3 years old.
this topic should be put in the trash just like the hard drive was over 3 years ago.:D

as for answering the op question..
the coins were spread over a few addresses. in 2009. and then ended up in landfill before 2013. news started reporting in 2013 that should he have kept the coins/laptop. he would have been a multi-millionaire

I looked through his twitter and found a donation address of 15JHTg6g4zokAM23vJVcL8DbAAjA4BhsLH but I can't see anywhere where his address with the 7500 bitcoins was posted though.

if they can unearth a few measily atari video games for a hundred grand you can bet there are some serious hunters for this treasure out there right now.

problem is there will be no announcement when or if the treasure is found.

Well I was just thinking how long that data will stay in tact without the hard drive being powered on. The magnetism will fail over time, and the data will be lost forever. The longevity of the data stored on any drive depends on the conditions where it is stored and for how long. For hard drives, there are three main factors: magnetic field breakdown, environmental conditions, and mechanical failure.

One thing not considered is the servo tracks and markings. These are written one time at the factory and never again (on modern disks). No amount of re-writes by the user or so-called low-level formatting freshens these. Once they fade, they fade!

So in conclusion, Bye Bye bitcoins ^wave^

Address reused isnt discouraged since yesterday. The idea that someone would have all their coins on a single address sounds very strange to me. You yourself have at least two address, why would you think someone keeps 7500(!) btc on a single one?

so what?

lets say you found an address or a couple of them showing 7500BTC belonging to the person you are looking for. then what? you wasted your time and other's time to find some useless information, congrats.

there are so many others who have so much more.
