Title: A list of bad sites?
Post by: sabevissia on November 26, 2016, 02:14:15 AM
I am new to the entire cryptocurrency in the first place so very new to BitCoins as well. Is there a place that lists known bad sites? I learned the hard way that the idea of a doubler site is false/fake, such as http://bestdoubler.eu/ for example. They just take what you send them and that's it.

what bad site? if i see that you write about doubler, then i will give suggestion to you to stay away from the doubler because its not really work, i think its only work for the first people and in the first time of launching the site and after that, you are only send your money and not getting profit at all. so please be careful when you want to make a deposit.

Here's a list of scam sites(user generated) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326821.0
Another way would be using the search function  on the forum, see if it turns up scam accusation threads or you could directly go to the scam accusation section and look through it. Googling would also turn up some.

Definitely look through this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326821.0) to see if you're dealing with a scam site. It's also a good idea to see if anm scam accusation is opened and of course good old common sense + a quick google. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

a list of good sites would be a lot shorter than the other way around! and if you are looking for a specific service then look for the top providers and then use google to find some feedback about them or ask on the forum.

and also i see you are talking about a doubler, it is obvious that all of these types sites are scam, there is no need for a list because everyone knows that.

1.Check out the scam accusation section of the forum very often and stay updated with latest scams .
2.Stay away from doublers and all investment sites ,basically Micro earning section of the forum.
3. Generally ,before using any website ,make sure you check out their reviews either here on bitcointalk or google.
4.A lot of fake coin mixing services are in the trend now,do your homework before sending coins to random addresses.

You posted in the right place, how did you know?

Is there a place that lists known bad sites?

Search on google

I learned the hard way that the idea of a doubler site is false/fake, such as http://bestdoubler.eu/ for example.

You could have said: "I learned the hard way that the idea of a doubler site is false/fake"
But you left this link: http://bestdoubler.eu

My guess, this site http://bestdoubler.eu It's yours and you came here to promote it.

Bitcoin doubler is a scam. Dont try putting all your bitcoin there. They will just run with your bitcoin. Stay away from any bitcoin doubler sites. They always say that they will double your bitcoin in just 2 hours. Thats bullshit! There are no easy money. Just hold your bitcoin. Dont invest your bitcoin to any investments unless you know its legit and trustworthy.

A list of bad sites will not help completely as same scammer always will come up with new site, still having a list will save you from falling into a well known scam. But, no list will be versatile to cover all existing scams. We need to check site specifically fore reviews. If no reviews available, do not invest.

This is not how it works pal.

You would have to end up on a website, and then check the reviews, this is how girls do the shopping and this is how smart they are.

You can post a concern about a certain site in this forum (https://bitcointalk.org) and see how other users think of a particular site and wait for a review. Also there is a certain site called badbitcoin.org where all ponzis are listed in their bad list.

But what if you encountered a newly made ponzi site and there's no review after all? Then you have to maximize your knowledge in the thing called "obvious". Earning without doing nothing in a site is totally a shit. Offering you a good returns in just a short period of time for let's say "double your shit within 24 or 48 hours" or something is really unbelievable. It's should be obvious why the hell your money will grow on a certain site just by depositing and will just wait.

Work to earn rather than relying on those shit site with shit returns promised.

Yes, no list will be dynamic to have info on latest phishing attempts. But, we can get good site's review on this forum, so staying safe with our bitcoins not that big challenge.

You can check the service discussion section, I can't seem to find where it is at the moment but you have a complete list of scam websites and it's updated with the newest ones when they come up.

Depository catalogs of scam projects/sites are not ideal solution. Because:

1. If some site is proven to be scam they usually run off with your money and close.
2. People usually are no interested in scams in general - they are interested in one service they want to check googling this will usually be sufficient to find out whether it is a scam or not.
3. You can easy spot certain scams at first glance, so creating site dedicated to list scams made by kids or idiots is waste of time IMO.

It's true, the essence of a fraudulent scheme is to appear and disappear very fast, doesn't worth the time listing them. And after disappear they come back fast with another name (but same offers).

The best way to identify a scam scheme is just looking their offers, if it's too good to be true, if they have any proof of legit service, if they have a real central or something that give them legitimacy.

Anyway, just to say a scam one here that is currently popular, I add to the list: Recyclix.

I think you are describing ponzi sites, which are definitely a scam. Anything that sounds too good to be true is probably a scam.

Also OP, 999Dice and Betcoin.ag have scam accusations open against them, so you might want to check those accusations out.

You don't have to see any list at all. Aside from people doing the work themselves providing opinion doesn't make you be less likely in the good situation as well. You should always consider the rules of online marketing. Never invest/gamble what you cannot afford to lose. Online marketing platform is very volatile, it could give you a profit today but  that doesn't mean for tomorrow as well. While there were also obvious Ponzi platform.

Agreed with ardentvolcanoes , badbitcoin.org have already saved a lot of users from scam/ponzi sites (including me on my beginners day on bitcoin) you should try it as a basis.

IMHO, there will be no full list of all scam sites since there are too many of them on the web. They are like grass which sprouts anywhere.

I can't write down all scam sites and i think all of hyips for now is can be called ponzi scam thats why we should not repy on list and point all online investment as scam so we cannot be attract to invest at them, and totally this little thread might be helpfull so they can see the bad ratings of their site they are unto it.

It's not possible to list all the scam sites in existence, you just have to look out for the signs: If it looks too good to be true, then do some research on Google to hear what people are saying about it.

http://www.badbitcoin.org

A very good site the guy goes into detail about how scams work and the thinking behind a scammer. His reviews are short but long enough to reach the point and make it easy to understand. There so many scams so short reviews work best. But basically of a site is on http://www.badbitcoin.org the stay away from that site.

if you are looking for "bad" sites catalogue
I suggest you have a look here: http://www.badbitcoin.org/ (http://www.badbitcoin.org/)
they have huge database of scam sites and people are sending their bad experiences to them on a daily basis
so there is a chance that you can find the site you are looking for there and save yourself the troubles
whenever I check if a bitcoin related company legit or not, this is one of the first sources I refer to because it weeds out  obvious scams pretty efficiently

Actualy you can see some of it at investor based games https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=207.0. Some bad sites here are bitcoin doublers and some coinmixing service. Also some cloud mining and investment sites.
Bethenext.io
Twinbit.info
Coinn.io and many more. These are bad sites which very obvious because they offers higher than normal rate and too good to be true.

Yes, it would be better to develop our knowledge in order to identify the bad sites instead of depending on others' lists. If we look at the source of income and the methodology of income generation then we can easily identify the ponzis and future scam sites. A versatile list of bad sites yet to be created so we need to be skilled for identifying them ourselves.

Thanks to all of you for your input, even the rude ones in this thread......... (come on people, said I was very new to this entire cryptocurrency stuff so no need for some of your asshat comments).

I found http://www.badbitcoin.org very interesting (they even have a safe site list, was much more useful and short then the bad site list, just like some one in this thread said it would be).

I now know that doublers are bad period, too bad I had to learn the hard way to do so (I think I have a total of like $0.30 in my BitCoin wallet and tried the doubler with $0.07 worth of BitCoin so not a huge loss).

I have been doing a lot more reading overall through the forums here. Maybe BitCoin would be even more popular with there were less asshats in the forums being jerks with their answers? Almost enough to make me want to not try to make any BitCoin and give up on cryptocurrency so I doubt that I would be the only one that felt this way from the way some people do respond here.

I went to add the domain I had listed in this thread (won't list it again as some one accused me of trying to promote it) to the thread you listed but it appears that doublers are already so common to be a scam that they don't want them added. I guess this just helps to show how little I do know still about cryptocurrency in general, but I am learning.

At least you have some idea now about that thing and as time passes, you will enhanced your knowledge in the world of cryptocurrency. By maximizing your common sense you will sense or automatically known if a site is a shit one and will never gave you a good output in terms of long term investment.

Like I said, work to earn rather than relying on those shit site with shit returns promised. There are lots of opportunities to earn bitcoin if we think outside the box or should I say, much better if you will remove the box.

I strongly agree, we need to give efforst before we earn and those what so called shit site are what so called scam since they offer some unrealistic profits while they cannot give proper documentation about what business they have, and those lazy man arr mostly their victims since they are believing that theirs a site can give them profits for just doing nothing, and believe me all investment site are scam and just point it that way so we will not fall in their bad schemes ahead, we should think advance before its to late.
