Title: 5670 is very efficient
Post by: wblabla4 on April 07, 2013, 07:52:46 AM
Yes, it is very efficient. It does 150mh/s slightly overclocked(850 core) and it is only 50$! So you can get 600mh/s for a mere 200$. 6870 does that for 250$! But before you run to your local store, be sure to buy Powercolor ones because they're slightly different from regular 5670's. Here be pics:

running at 290mh/s

Probably the "Juniper" text caught your eye. That's why I said that the Powercolor ones are different! Now go and buy some 5670's!

What is the power consumption?

I could fit 2 of them easily with a 500W Cooler Master PSU. Don't know the exact power consumption though.
The rest of the system is:

Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 Motherboard(only got 4 PCI-e)
OCZ Vertex 3 60GB
a laptop HDD(don't know the exact model but it's Western Digital)
AMD Phenom II x6 1100T Black Edition
4 of those power hungry LED fans

EDIT: And BTW they require a 6-pin PCI-e power connector for each card.

Efficiency needs to take power consumption into account, IMHO. Most of us have to pay an electric bill.
