Title: How long it might take to confirm this transaction?
Post by: Bitcoin Gambling on November 27, 2016, 12:10:06 PM
Following transaction is related to my game www.BitcoinBetting.website. It is unconfirmed for some time, in spite of being properly paid IMO. I would like to know how much were supposed to be paid for this transaction?

Size: 2147 byte
Tx fee: 0.0006 BTC

As i can see this transaction have already 3 confirmations, so everything is correct.

Transaction fee 0.0006 in my poinion is very high, but if you want check exacly how much you should pay for transfer like this, you can check that here:
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Edit:
To be honest i'm not sure if i will count that correct, but probably it should be like that:
0.0006 / 2147 = ~ 27sat/byte - so looking on 21.co statistics, transaction should be confirmed from 0 - 240 minutes

Edit2:
To get confirmation immediately you will have to pay 2147 * 71 satoshi, so >150k satoshi

Please, can someone check and confirm if I count it correct..

A Bitcoin transaction depends on network block speed. On average, it takes about 10 minutes normally a transaction should be confirmed  with in 30-45 minutes. The average block time can actually be slightly shorter or longer depending of the Bitcoin network. If something wrong then it must be confirmed MAX 3 working days.

The fees included with a transaction significantly influence the number of blocks within which one can expect a confirmation. Some transactions don't have a chance of being confirmed at all and will eventually be dropped from memory.

Agree its very high fee, and it worked as it should it get confirmed quite fast taking note here on current queue size.
Soon problems with queue should be fixed by increased block size or segwit.

This has been explained to you.  Multiple times.  By me, and by others.

Please take the time to understand how to figure this out for yourself so you don't need to keep asking the exact same question again and again.

For any bitcoin transaction it takes normally 10 to 15 minites .if u are sending to multiple address at a same time and if u are sending a very low transaction fee it may take a very long time .

I think its safe to say, that this is no longer viable.
In past it was 10 minutes average. Now this average change so much, that sometimes u wait 10 seconds and sometimes u wait 10 hours.
U can never be sure nowadays.
Anyway, if you know about it, you are not angry.

Always adjust your fees and check if the network is flooded before making transactions!

Can you explain how to adjust fee befor sending BTC and how you are checking network traffic?
I'm using MultiBit Classic and there only is option to choose amount of fee. How i can count how high should be this fee to get first confirmation in for example 10 minutes? (or less than 30/60 minutes)

i think its better you set it with the middle of the fee and i see on the multibit classic, there is a lower and higher setting that we can select. for me, i usually set it into middle, then its been a default setting fee for me when i want to sending the amount of bitcoin. the longer and fast sending of transaction is depend on the how much the traffic in the network of blockchain itself, when there is a big transaction with big amount and big fee, then the other should be waiting.

you dont have to ask such a questions my friend :)
60k tip is actually really high, you can get confirmatioon in 4-5 block with only 10k fee.

Maybe there's a little problem with blockchain now since your transaction have been confirmed some minutes after but what's important is that it is settled now. It is finished and it is confirmed. Next time you do transaction I suggest that you just pay 0.0001 BTC as payment for transaction since it is enough to get transactions confirmed when you give high transaction pay I think sometimes it is still the same sometimes faster.
