Now that BBQcoin now has it own website and forum I feel it is about time for people to dust off their old wallets and maybe download one (Link on the official site), if you don't have one yet.

The difficulty is still nice and low, for anymore wishing to have a go at mining some solo blocks.

There are already talks under way about giving this coin its own mining pool and having it added to a new exchange that is currently under development.

So without wasting anymore time, the first 10 addresses added here will be sent 100 BQC each.

I will be doing another one of these in a week or so for those that miss out.

With all these new coins coming out it seems strange to ignore this coin which has been going to some time now and has been going to so long, that pre mine should even count anymore. (Nobody ever mentions pre mine with Bitcoin do they but it happened.)

If you are looking what to do with them, there is a trade section open on the bbqcoin forum, early stages yet though, beta-ish.

To get a client please go to bbqcoin.org and follow the instructions.

If you are not getting any connection then you will have to open a port in your router, it will be the port that you add in your bbqcoin.conf.

It does have the Litecoin logo but that will be changing very soon, as I am releasing an update to give it, its own splash and logo.

Just to let people know that this coin was not pre mined, is has just been running in the background and due the the name BBQ, most miners and investors just left it alone.

Its has just been cpu and low end gpu mined for ages now.

It would be really nice, if you provided a copy of the chain, so we don't have to wait so long. It won't take much to zip it and store it on some server. Plus, my client keeps getting stuck every few thousand blocks.

My Roaming/BBQ folder is about 244 MB, not that big compared to BTC which is 7.7 GB

The size of the blockchain for any chain is dictated by the number of transactions and their sizes.

And it is so much more smaller than the huge BTC one.

Ok this should work now.

Go to you appdate BBqcoin folder and copy you wallet dat to you desktop or something.

Then replace the BBQcoin folder with the one you have just download, then move back in your original wallet.dat.

This should work and start downloading the most recent blocks.
