Title: What is your favorite Zero Knowledge Proof coin?
Post by: Abiky on December 01, 2016, 06:16:09 PM
Since ZCash inception, a number of forks have emerged from it, leaving us a variety of coins that use the same technology as its predecessor, and some of them are aiming to become better than the former cryptocurrency.

Also, the original Zerocoin protocol became a reality with Zcoin lately, but it is up to debate whenever all these Zero Knowledge Proof cryptocurrencies can deliver the attention of companies, businesses, and even developers in order to apply real usability towards them, and help the technology become mainstream.

Nevertheless, I want to know which Zero Knowledge Proof coin would be your favorite, and why would you invest in it?  :)

Please add Zclassic in your poll. That is the best so far...

Thanks for your reply. I missed out that one, but it is nice to see another fork from ZCash around. If I were to make a debate on which Zero Knowledge Proof coin is better, I guess that it is up to whenever it gets acceptance from merchants and have real world usability in the long term. I'm hoping that if the technology becomes successful, then it could be put into good use such as trading into decentralized exchanges with it, use on decentralized marketplaces, and much more.

Nevertheless, if anyone else has any opinions or recommendations about a Zero Knowledge proof coin that could have a bright future, please let me know. In my own opinion, I see that Zcoin may take the lead in the long term. But, it will depend whenever it gets popularity over the upcoming days.  :)

Zdash.
The true decentralized altcoin. A dev team that is listening when the community is speaking and is speaking when the community is listening. There's no dictatorship, anyone who wants to contribute may contribute and by contributing earning bounties, trust and love  ;)
Long-term solutions that takes 2 weeks longer but works, are valued higher than quick fixes that must be replaced or re-done within a week.

We are working on getting listed on Bittrex right now which will make the coin more known to the public, our website is coming up this week and it's going to be brilliant. Completely brilliant!

Thanks for sharing this new ZCash fork! It looks very promising and might become a successful cryptocurrency in the long term. I'll have a look at it and consider whenever to invest in it this weekend. As it is aiming to go towards a popular exchange like Bittrex, it could bring good trading to it and thus make the price go all the way to the moon.

By the way, if you can give me a few pointers about it via PM to get started, don't hesitate to do so.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward for more reviews about other Zcash clones, to put them into my list of investment consideration.  :)

I don't want to be like that but I don't like that logic.
Without Bitcoin no Litecoin, without Litecoin no Doge, Blackcoin, Moon etc, without them no Scrypt-Jane currency, without Scrypt-jane. Yeah you get my point, without LTC no Zcash.

Crypto's aren't about competing with eachother, it's about fighting against centralized currencies.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, mate. Would you care to share why is eBitz a scam? Just want to be sure about it, since I was considering investing into it these days. The only thing that seemed suspicious to me, was that the ICO site was all made up on Wordpress. Even when you had to login in order to participate in the ICO, everything within it was just made up with Wordpress plugins.

Nevertheless, these Zero Knowledge Proof coins need to be tested against other anonymous technologies, in order to determine which one is best for complete privacy and anonymity in transactions. Until this is proven, I'll stick up more with the tried and tested CryptoNote technology from Monero.  ;D

There are at least 3 post about Ebitz scam proof and all threads are verified,Ebitz is indeed a scam project but was to late to expose ,they have already amassed over 200 bitcoin ,the official Ebitz thread is now locked and the people behind it are nowhere to be found now,we really need a team of experts that will expose this scam ICO.

Like others have mentioned before, Zclassic would have my vote  :D, i think its release was more ethical than ZEC itself

Thanks for the information. I had my suspicions at first, when I saw the site designed in Wordpress. Due to this fact, I limited myself from investing into this project until clarified about it. That is why, in every ICO, I take the liberty to check out about current development team, employees, among other factors before making a bad move, resulting in massive losses by then. I was scammed by many ICOs, like ZION cryptocurrency, among many others. Luckily, I've learnt a valuable lesson, and now I proceed with extreme caution.

Nevertheless, I hope that scams like these get exposed, thus preventing them from succeeding into stealing other people's money.  >:(

Thanks for sharing your opinion. The way I see it, ZClassic may become a huge competitor against ZCash if it proves to deliver constant development, and most of all, usability. Since ZEC doesn't have an official GUI wallet release, ZClassic may take the lead by releasing a GUI wallet thus making things much easier for people who are not tech-savvy. Having user friendliness in a cryptocurrency, it is key towards making it become popular and used be the masses in the long term.  :)

Hi Abiky,

What do you think about komodo? Have you taken a look into it? Could you possibly share your thoughts on it? Thanks.  :D I've recently been browsing here in altcoins section but haven't found much feedback about it.

And yes, Ebitz has been confirmed as a scam.

Zero knowledge proof coins tend not to be scalable. The proofs are too long. You can use mixes or mix-nets if you really want anonymity. Also, if there is a bug like the Value Overflow Incident, by the time it is noticed, it would be way too late. One of the nice things about bitcoin is that everyone can see when something goes wrong. Zcash requires a trusted set-up that could be hacked, anyone with the "toxic waste" can crash the system to his advantage.

Would you care first to shortly explain what is zero knowledge.
Then back to subject, none of them.
Why do we need anonymous transactions if we are not criminals?

You sound like the NSA.
Privacy is the right of every individual, everyone has things they would rather not make public.

But it looks ridiculous.
Pseudonymous already enough. With an encrypt connection. For covering his privacy. I was likely to call it removing our trace rather(transaction) than save our privacy.

Of course privacy, now sit back and wait for crypto to scale worldwide.
Besides the fact that people need at least a bit of internet(computer) skills as how to use an email, register on a service/site and know how to use a bitcoin wallet and be their own banks I think this hush hush deal of privacy is one other factor that we see slow adoption of crypto.

Hi Abiky,

Yes I have looked into Komodo and it has been one of those forks from ZCash that has really attracted my attention. It has so many features, including but not limited to dPoW which is very ideal, in my own opinion, to make the coin even more secure than many altcoins out there by using Bitcoin's PoW. Unfortunately, I didn't invest into it because I was broke so I missed the chance to get ICO coins early. However, as soon as it hits the exchanges, I will definitely buy some.

As for eBitz, it seemed like it was going to be a great ZCash fork, but unfortunately it just turned into another scamcoin. Luckily, you guys saved me from making a bad investment.  ;)

Nevertheless, if you or anybody else knows, of other new and exciting ZCash forks, don't hesitate to let me know.  :)
