Why go that far out of the way? You can save a lot of money by just living with the mole men. They're a lot more sensible. Although they tend to make strange chirping noises from time to time, which can be a bit unnerving.

Always wanted to go to Europe. Heard amazing stories from friends about their travels there. USA seems dull and boring, with all due respect :P

Anyone with any forsight can see the future is not bright for Dollar and Euro denominated countries.

Southeast Asia is where the opportunity will be in the next decade.

USA because it is more stable comparing to EU.

The best place to live is probably somewhere in Asia in the future.

You can't really compare "the US and Europe" or "the US and the EU"- it strongly depends on the state & country (I'm not sure about this, but I think the difference is bigger in Europe).

I wouldn't move to the US.

There's only the impression of stability in the EU ("fiscal cliff" news) or the US ("cyprus" news) when you hear what's wrong on the other side of the world.

I live in the USA. I can't say I like the people I've met. There is a lot of crime and corruption. The gang bangers and gun violence is never ending. Everybody's life revolves around working 9-5. We put too much energy and effort in to money. It's like the most important thing around here. More important than life itself. Was thinking about EU cause they have so much culture and so many countries to visit. I can live in London for a few years then France Ireland Italy Germany Switzerland and Amsterdam. It sounds more exciting than the US.

I don't think I would want to live in Asia. Maybe Japan but that's it. I don't care about economic issues. Quality of life is my concern.

Kind of depends where. Compton vs. Bosnia? Fuck son, you're dicked two ways to Sunday. But Frankfurt vs. Minneapolis? It's a whiskey vs. beer question. Gonna come down to what you like more.

LOL, yes.

btw.: Are we talking about USA - EU or USA - Europe? There are some countries in Europe that are not part of the EU: Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Bosnia, Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus,....

Love Europe, hate EU. The sooner the EU dies and goes to hell the better.

So overall, neither. Both the US and EU are extremely corrupt, bloated empires. "Good" places in Europe might be: Switzerland, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, perhaps Iceland...

Get me a nice Aussie woman and a big stash of BTC and I'll find a nice island or similar place in which to retire and have 15 kids*. ;D

* OK, I'm kid-ding (groan) about the "15 kids" part...

I'm talking about Europe in general. I'm thinking about starting in London. But that's still up for debate. Ireland and New Zealand looks beautiful. New Zealand has some deal with Australia. If I get permanent residence with New Zealand I can get permanent residence with Australia and come or go as I please.

Sounds fun.

Europe has lot's of differences between the country's so I think some places in the usa are better and some are better in Europe.

But I don't think I will ever move to the USA, me and my wife probably move to Norway in the near future, we totally felt in love with this country, the people are really nice, low crime rate, good economy and it's so beautiful, good thing is that it's Europe but doesn't belong to the EU.

We now live in Belgium, the only thing I can say that is good is the beer and food, taxes are 60% of your wage and we have taxes for things you can't imagine and you get absolutely nothing in return. Everything is grey, boring and dirty, since we have the Euro it actually was one big ride downwards. My parents had it good here, but I really can't see a future for myself here.

Lived a while in The Netherlands too, but can't say it is better or worse, actually I didn't noticed much difference besides the roads that are way better, taxes are lower but housing and healthcare is way more, and I can't say the future looks bright for it either.

True, but a country with a good economy makes the quality of your life much better. If you need to work 14 hours a day so you can have just enough food, I don't think you will love it. So yes I prefer a country with a healthy economy to live in. Even if I would have enough money, I would not want to live in a country knowing most of the other people have it bad there.
