Obviously I am a noob so firstly...Hi I am a psych student at Leeds Uni and just for fun have been looking into BTC and the alternatives too. I am also a motorcycle rider/enthusiast. The main reason for this post, and I hope it is OK me putting it in here, is that I am after a cheap FPGA. It doesn't need to have a high hash/s as I simply want to play around. My laptop when using CGminer gets about 15-20M/Hash/s so anything higher than 20m would be awesome. I also have little money so the cheaper the better. If you are really interested, perhaps try your luck in LTC mining. they are resistant to GPU and ASIC hashrates and if you have the right equipment , if could really go your way.
Title: Re: Cheap FPGA Post by: werewolf on April 08, 2013, 07:52:03 PM I see. I tried mining with the laptop using litecoin and the minerd integrated software. Got a very poor hash rate get about 20k/hash/s on the GPU and about 15k/hash/s on the CPU.

Well, will probably just leave it be then = / I am a poor student so not like I will be going out to get a mining rig anytime soon.
