Title: Stuff You Can Buy with Bitcoin on Craigslist Post by: Gliph on April 08, 2013, 11:03:16 AM Given the recent rise in value and interest in Bitcoin, I thought it would be cool to make a snapshot of what was for sale on Craigslist from people accepting BTC.
Los Angeles seems to have the most different sellers and I thought it was cool Portland, Oregon has aquarium shrimp for BTC this morning. Austin, Texas has two types of fertilized chicken eggs. :) All the listings were offering Bitcoin as an alternative to dollars. But in one example in San Francisco (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/fuo/3729075928.html), someone is only taking crypto currencies. It seems like there has been a fair amount of growth since midway last year (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89064.0). Is anyone actively listing stuff on Craigslist for BTC or had a successful sale doing so? I'm sure this is about to change. I'll keep offering btc as an option whenever I'm selling, of course.

He does pc rigs as a hobby and has a been a miner for some time.He said no one had bought shrimp using BTC yet, but that he'd continue to offer it as a payment method nonetheless. |
