Title: What are you doing with your mined ZEC?
Post by: Altcoining on December 05, 2016, 10:59:15 PM
Does anyone have hope left for ZEC prices? Or do you all think it will just go down-hill from here?

Sell them as you mine them, wait for the bottom and then buy a few back. There was a lot of hype around this coin and it may have been unfounded. Only time will tell.

I got rid of mine as quickly as I mined them since the price was in free fall and I stopped mining a couple of weeks ago.

selling them is all I do. I think it's still going to go downhill.

I have been holding the last few days, but I am questing if that is wise.

10% dump in price today and that is with a bitcoin correction.

I surround the current price  with buy orders and sell orders and I hold what I mine.

.055
.060
.065   all buy

.066 current price

.08
.09
.10    all sell
.11
.12

 I have 8 zec involved.

on buy or sell

I have 2.34 in mined and holding.

this is around 10 zec or .65 btc

I can hang in with this idea until jan 1

I will then decide what to do.
I look for a dec 10-12 pump to help sell the rx 490

Phil am I right that you are playing bear/bull with budget of 8 ZEC? Doest your strategy works? Right now we have a steep descent - so I'm not sure then you will see 0.11-0.12

I'm reading stuff about ZEC for a while and just created this account to post this here.

Exactly now at Poloniex ZEC is at 0.06700000 BTC/ZEC with a total sell orders amount of  11342.33286319 ZEC at a varying price of 0.06700000 up to 0.13469776. And a total buy orders amount of  347.26476891 BTC with prices varying from 0.00000001 to the actual 0.06700000 BTC/ZEC.

I take that people putting these orders above or below the price at a given point are expecting the price will go UP or DOWN, respectively. And what we have here is that all sellers together are expecting to get 11342.33286319 ZEC * 0.06700000 BTC/ZEC = 759.93630853 BTC and all buyers together are willing to pay 347.26476891 BTC. So I believe that ZEC price will go down until it's at a cotation that the total amount of ZEC will have equal to below the amount, of the currency to be exchanged, all buyers are willing to pay OR appears more people offering their BTC for ZEC.

I believe that, at the current rate, ZEC will be at a solid ground around $22.96/ZEC, though it could hit its $10.00/ZEC given the momentum of the freefall. And, if I'm right, when ZEC hits that point it should start to go up or crash and lose value like smoke that disappears in the air. I'm betting in the first one.

That type of market behaviour is possible - about the same as I can say that gold will grow all the time.

But

During this period of constant rate down - it will be spikes of bulls' games, and that is a time where somebody can take a good profit

If you all keep dumping your coins, obviously prices are going to fall. I don't know how much miners influence the coin's price and I get that you need to cover electricity costs and all, but you should sell only that amount that allows you to do that. IMO Zec isn't dead, yet and I'm pretty sure the developers aren't going to let their coin die down in the 0.001BTC range.

We're reaching the 50$ bottom, last time, this was where ZEC got some support and went back to almost 0.14. I think that selling everything now isn't smart.

Personally I'll keep mining until I'm not getting any profit out of it which is around 30-40$/coin.

Wait and see...

I do the same. It is quite possible that the ZCash can be developed properly as the developers get paid with ZCash.

Most of miners are dumping as hell, to make roi asap, and you cant do anything about it.
This is crypto, live with that.

I was dumping everything during the slow start...less of a need now that the slow start is over.  I still have to sell daily to pay for power and the facility.

A Coin which aims to be a currency,
should have wallets.

Where do you store your ZEC - at the exchange, even mining to it ?

LoL

I mine to an exchange address and sell most of the coin. I just leave very few just in case it will rise in the future.

People paid 30 - 40$ when litecoin is in hype mode, and litecoin supply back then was far more than zec right now.

We all know how zec is far better in development and technology compared to litecoin.

Zcash has paid for developers. So they should do better job than the litecoin. litecoin is just a clone of bitcoin.

This is the point I am currently at. All through the slow start I sold every ZEC as I mined it as the profits were good. I am just now starting to transition from selling everything to keeping and holding some ZEC.

I am currently at a 75% sell to 25% hold ratio, but over the next month as I think the price will start to stabilize more and I will convert to selling enough to cover power costs and holding on to the rest, probably ending up with something like 75% keep and 25% sell.

When the revenue of the mining is more than 2 times the electricity cost, it is better to sell. Otherwise, it is better to hold.

For most people, it is less than 2 times of the electricity cost, but the price is still going down a lot.
