The point of signing a message with a Bitcoin address is to prove ownership of that address. If the address is associated with your account, it serves as proof that you are the owner of the account. That is useful when dealing with account trades or attempting to recover hacked/stolen/locked accounts. It will not count as a proof if you just recently stake an address today and sign it today. |
