i bought 1000 eth when it was 12$   >:( >:(.buy or sell now with this price (6$) :'(? what's the future? price is 6$ now!! ??? ??? ??? ???

Just a price manipulation by the market traders and whales colluding to dump the price and wait for weak hands to dump, then they'll start to buy to the normal price again.
I'd hold for now if I were you, though I might be totally wrong about this.

you should have dumped ETH as soon as price went down from $12 to $11.99 and not wait until the very bottom to sell.

right now it is certainly a bad situation going on because people have been cashing out of ETH and it has not yet stopped meaning the price can still go down. and as far as i can see  there is no upcoming pump for the time being.

Sale now at 6$ and wait price hit 2$ and then buy and then wait few months they pump price back to 8-10$ and you may got your money back!
Or sale now and go in another safe alt coin that not dump!there is few safe coins now!

Ether should have been on your avoid list when its DAO was hacked.
I cashed in ether at a loss of 2 USD. But I am happy that I did it.

The ethereum price has changed dramatically now and it's not good for traders especially those who invested when the price was really high comparing with the price that is at the moment!

Definitely he lose up 50% of his capital or investment money as we look at the price of ETH but if im on his situation i would really panic since its already a big amount for me ,maybe not for some but for me its already huge. Decision making would takes place i would not tend to sell of even ETH price dropped 50% and i will risk my money to wait even for more years and wait up for bounce back on its price.

No choice but to hold but it may take you a few years before you see those prices again.

Wait for more, seems ETH will get the next pump but try for selling your coin at there is a little gap between your buy rate. For decreasing, you're lost on your such first capital.

Right now eth is really in bad situation may be the price will rise but you need to hold some more time, many people out there are still dumping the eth , once dumping people left once again they start buying may at that time the price will increase, but you need to hold for some more days for better results.

a tiny bump happened recently in ETH price which may be a good chance for you to sell or you can keep waiting to see if it can ever go back up to $12 again. that is nearly 2x rise which i don't see happening honestly. and surely not in a short term.

The best thing to do is to hold for some months and see how things are going to happen. If you need those funds, then I guess you don't have other options than to sell it. If you are a risk taker, then invest into promising projects such as ICONOMI, SINGULAR DTV and vDice.

it's a firm pumper favorite. no reason why it shouldn't go back to $12. No reason why it shouldn't be $1.20 either. you're in their hands. i think there's enough vested interests to see some more action in the future. it's not as if it's gonna fade away.

but even with a big pump at this point it may be even impossible to reach $12 anymore. this is the story with all the pump and dump coins, you can only pump them so many times. and if you look at the highs they are always decreasing over time, each pump smaller than the last.

For the most part I don't think ETH is gonna rise, don't expect it to get back to 10-12 in few months or years. Sell it before you lose anymore, you did a big mistake holding it after the $10 mark.   

who would've predicted how alts behaved at the start of this year? it's been officially insane. no telling what they might get up to next. it could well be all over or just about to warm up for all we know. there's no rhyme or reason to any of it. eth absolutely categorically did not justify a one thousand million dollar market cap. it managed it anyway.

I don't understand any of this either anymore.
ETH up to 12, then down to 6 dollar, now rcovering to about 8.5 Dollars.
Maybe there were  just (too) many forks and rumors and this is all psychology.

Price is recovering there was horrible FUD which made panic sell this was the big reason of dump. Hopefully it will get back on the previous level of price.

That's unfortunate I understand that you are in a dilemma because price is slipping down,I don't have much update about the thread,but if the whales of ethereum will continue to support Etherium and dev team will continue developing this coin,you can save it for future profit or you can sell 1/2 of it if the price keeps sliding down

my theory is : just don't panic, ethereum will rise very hard in our future , the project is fantastic and the team is currently one of the best. So just wait :)

That's funny.   I say ETH still has $6.00 left to fall, and it definitely wouldn't be a bad idea for OP here to cut his losses.   Or he could keep holding.   Weird stuff happens in cryptocurrency all the time, and who knows when a whale will show up and start buying?   Then this will become a thread about how he should have held his position.   None of us has a crystal ball.

What makes you so sure of that. Its possible eth crawls under a rock and dies at $2 each for years before she may come back to life.

If you bought that much ETH you sound like you were waiting to make at least 100% profit, but surely much, much more. That means you were looking for a bit of a long-term investment.

You should be fully prepared for a 50% dip if that were the case. So I'd say you should hold on to it and ride the wave. Or take the hit now and learn your lesson.

People like you will make the price to remain low for some time, because thos that bought the token when the price was above $10 are all waiting for the price to hit $10+ for them to exit the trade

Possible things that are being mentioned do really might happen since no one could really pinpoint on when an altcoin would die but as i saw on the ETH it will not die anytime soon and also regarding to the situation of OP i would still hold and wont do panic selling since its already half on the capital is being lost and i would really risk the remaining chance and would tend to hold further more and hoping for another price increase again.

the only way that OP can get his investment back is that if he gets lucky and bitcoin price stops rising and becomes stable like before. then it would be another golden time for altcoins and we may even see pumps again to previous prices. but other than that i don't see any way because as bitcoin price rises, ETH to stay the same price has to go down in ETH/BTC and that will cause  people to continue their dump both because price was going down and also to get more bitcoin and join in the bitcoin price rise.

I don't think you understand what dump means, Augur crashed to 10000sat from 400000sat in reaction to the hack, Ethereum last lost more than 30% of its Dollar value in two months, Bitcoin is not dumping yet the price range is still in $765 -$775

Bitcoin is in a clear and defined uptrend. This bubble wont pop for a while and many for $100's to go before that happens maybe even $1000's

Any proof?? seems like the tanking of hacker. But the current price was over 0.003 which mean that was being a short moment and wasn't meaning anything. The price of bitcoin was increasing and totally the correct thing about the alt which mean the price will get decrease caused by that.

I quite agree wit you ETH was rising rapidly as pumper favorite but the attack twice have taken the win out of its sail and that momentum is no longer there, however it is not a dead coin yet. You can wait it out or perhaps channel the coins to vdice which got some prospect.

the attack, whatever you may have in mind (since there were a couple of them) was effective for sure but the reason why price is going down is because it is the natural order of things in altcoins and in every pump and dump.

and it is not dead in the waters "yet" because it is a big project and lots of money have gone into it, that takes a long time to get out.

You are right ETH wont go out or be dead easily since its really a big project and millions of dollars are already invested into it and they are still trying to stand up no matter how hard the attack previously. Im not really fan of ETH but i just tell the things which i really do observe on its development since in the beggining.

You can invest in one of ETH ICO, for example vDice. This will help to get your money back.

I strongly agree with your opinions, From what the other people say about the weakness of the Ether. Vitalik has done for solving any problem was appearing in that place. They have done it every time. And the main statement, ETH will never die just caused by FUD.   ;D

From first you buy with 12$/ETH, if you decided to sell now you will get many loss 6000$ is a huge money, so for me is better for you to keep your ETH or join the ICO with ETH platform join in first day to get bonuses and when the ICO finish and the token launch you can sell in high, if you decided to keep your ETH maybe you should wait for a long time to see a whale come and pump ETH

FUD are always there since there are people would really likes to talk nonsense things without any basis or proofs. Decreasing prices of altcoin or any other crypto including bitcoin there are really some reasons that it causes for its price to dip or decrease just like what we saw on bitcoin but i dont think it would easily die.

Obviously eth is not going to die but its had its fair sjhare of problems. Hacks, forks, ect. But just because someone talks bad about eth does not make it automatic fud. It could be the truth but you see it as fud because it can hurt your investment.

People would really think bad if they said bad things about ETH and they would really see it as a FUD. There are lots of things that really happens to ETH but it could able to survive until up to now which means its a strong altcoin and it wont really die easily in my own view. To OP, just hold a little more on your ETH.

Many of us warned it would die a slow drawn out death months ago. You will see a few little pumps but it is going to die, period. Just decide when you cannot afford to lose more and bail on a mini pump.

Yes now the current situation of the eth is nearly 5$, even if big pump happen really it won't reach to 12$, but soon after again it will dump to 5$ only. Even their volumes are keep decreasing because many people are trying to increase it value but mining people are keep dumping, their are not getting their money which is spent for mining.

I dont think its going to die completely but its price will do what all other coins price has done. It will find a bottom and stay there for months while the whales reaccumlate for the next round but after the year eth had its easy to assume that next pump could be over a year out maybe even two.

See, you'd have recovered 30% of your loss now if you'd waited when you first posted this. Hope that's what you ended up deciding to do - the doom and gloom from naysayers are not going to stop but take a look at charts now and you gotta say there's bound to be a climb above $10 again. Maybe then if you want to cut losses it won't be so bad.

probably behind there is a lack of trust for the team running this project, and people are not agreed with that.

The best advice is to hold the coins and try to multiply the coins with very safe sports bet if you ask me that is what i will be doing rather than holding for the price to get back to the price i invested if not try to add some more coins and average the loss if you can enter at this lower rates and thats the best you can do at the moment.

It is not a best advice, gambling still has risk you can losing your money, it is worse than just holding your coin. I think there is no very sports bets although the odds is 1.1x or below than that, i was placed my bets on that odds, and i lost my money.

and besides the only reason why ETH price is still up is the HUGE walls they put up to prevent the crash. i mean how many ethereum do people have lol they put up walls as big 700-900BTC value. and it doesn't matter if the history is all red because people were selling all day, the price stays up :D

so the price is kept aritificially up at 0.009 and couple with the bitcoin price rise the value of ETH in USD goes up!!!

he would have gained a ton but i don't think ETH will just disappear in shame. the network is being used by valuable tokens that exist in the market. i would have kept that 1000 ETH even today now that its value had rise up almost $12. the cryptomarket wasn't yet discovered by investors from different market so let's wait for that to happen and we'll see ETH will be worth more than $15

OP had some small chance of getting his money back when ethereum was keeping its price up with manipulation and bitcoin price was going to the moon but now price fell and eth is cheap again.
the only hope OP has is to wait and hope for a possible pump from the ethereum whales in the future.

If im on the situation of OP i would really do the same thing on which holding my eth rather than panic sell off my coins on cheap price.I would take the risk on holding it further more and seeing the price of ETH its already climbing up now and its really a good indication that ETH will increase its price in the long run.

... and it took it nearly 2 months and lots of manipulations and big buy walls and lots of whales manipulation and also in the end it too bitcoin price going up for ethereum price to start showing some recovery in USD value but its BTC value is still very low and if someone had invested bitcoin in ethereum he is still a loser.

Don't say this too early. Dash was above 0.025 BTC less than 6 months ago and fell to 0.011 BTC in December last year. In less than 3 months, its price is at its high and there is a good chance it will go above 0.03 BTC. Altcoins are very volatile so a lesson learnt is not to panic sell when the price is low.

So, In conclusion, if ethereum is a lot of the manipulations?
Yeah I had invested my btc on the crowdsale of ethereum when the price of ethereum was $0.2.
And if right now the price is $15 and I'm still a big loser.  :o ::)

eth's value will drop too when btc drops this time. a lot of holders will move to btc. if btc dips, we'd all be buying btc. you may hold yours but the rest will still sell for btc to profit few hundreds. its best to also join the frenzy.
