Title: Mining on an Altera DE1 Help
Post by: dwraith on April 08, 2013, 07:54:16 PM
Since I cant post anywhere else, I thought I'd ask here...

I have an Altera DE1 (Cyclone II) FPGA dev board. Any ideas on how I can mine using this board? I have no FPGA experience but I am technically savvy (hopefully enough to program an FPGA)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers!

I would imagine (again, in same boat as you re: experience with FPGA) that you need their dev kit & tooling (which likely entails licensing) and would need to embark upon porting one of the open(ish) sourced FPGA miners (e.g., https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=9047.0)

Not knowing any better (blissful ignorance) this is of interest to me also assuming Altera do not have a major supply chain problem.
