At last bitcoin can now help the business sector and the individuals in Venezuela to get more security in terms of their finances. That is very true that it is not safe to carry big amount of cash in Venezuela since aside from murder going on anywhere there are also robbers roaming around the street that will kill you just to get your money.

Hope that bitcoin can somehow change the life of Venezuelan people, that they may get remittances without being stalked by a criminal.
More power to Venezuela and more power to bitcoins.

This seems to be possible only due to https://surbitcoin.com/ and there are still many underdeveloped and developing countries around the world which don't have any legally operating local bitcoin trading/exchange platforms. Venezuelian seems to be lucky to have one local trading platform.  ;)

It seems surbitcoin only have around 1% fee on selling bitcoin, which i think is way cheaper than traditional remittance systems.

At last someone with the gusto to take on the giants.  ::) We see this injustice all over and the poor people just get exploited more and more

every day. This guy has done more good with this article, than all the money being dumped into VC investment projects that are only directed

into projects that would generate profits for the people that are already rich. Do we see projects targeted at making Bitcoin easier for people

in third world countries or only projects that makes Bitcoin more convenient for 1st world citizens? { People pay for convenience }  ::)

Nice article. I would be good to garner feedback from a Venezuelan newbie to bitcoin, just to see if they get stuck at any point or are confused by anything. But on the surface it looks like it covers what is needed. Hopefully it will be a help to those suffering under the latest hard-core implementation of socialism.

Since their country is have a problem with some inflation and bad environment, bitcoin can be a solution.
Once again, bitcoin can help a trouble country to be better.

Very nice article, I hope that you will find and publish a method for Venezuelans (and perhaps others in LatAm, as the "Venezuela Disease" may show up in other places) to pay with Bitcoin alone (and avoid the whole exchange of BTC for bolivares).

Bravo!

If a Bitcoin economy could develop in Venezuela, then that would help a lot of people there.

Alternatively, are US$ useful there as a black market currency?  BTC and US$ are easily exchanged anywhere provided that blockchain.info (and all the others) are not blocked sites.

Some are using "free" electricity there for mining, turning the tables on the statist authoritarians.

Btw, th link about "The Secret, Dangerous World of Venezuelan Bitcoin Mining" is very good, I talked with the arrested guy before this hapened and he tried to scam people to fly to Venezuela with good predictions. Wel... I advise him about, now Maduro fkedd with his life, but he's just "one more". I know this kinda of practice since 70' in many places of the world (better trust me).

Venezuela along with a couple other countries really have the potential to send bitcoin to the moon in 2017, like india and some African ones.  i read the other day that chinas money will devalue 30per cent against the dollar soon.

There are a lot of crap-holes in the world, yeah.  These are usually dangerous, but Venezuela has gone beyond even lunacy, I just read that they (like India) are banning their largest bank notes:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-11/maduro-stunner-venezuela-eliminates-half-its-paper-money-after-pulling-largest-bill-

What is it with these morons running India and Venezuela?

If I had some Venezuelan friends then i might care about something like this, but even then, for the people that I do know that come from South America, there is actually a very small amount of them who have family beyond their grandparents still in their home countries. I doubt many Venezuelans (in my area) still have relatives there, but I might never know.

It's kind of weird how I haven't seen any Venezuelans, but it's cold here anyways so they probably don't want to be around here anyways.

I also ask myself the same question. How to use the site if one is in south america.

Nice article to read about how bitcoin could help 'users' financial even not entire country.
So sad to realize how economics crisis have been occurred since 2014 and getting worse every year.
"IMF figures, it has the world’s worst negative growth rate (-8%), and the worst inflation rate (482%). The unemployment rate is 17% but is expected to climb to near 30% in the coming few years."
This situation make me thinking how to survive to prepared myself facing unpredictable future, at least bitcoin is reliable compare to fiat money and there we put our investment just in case something like this happen.

Good, but this is not only peculiar to Venezuelan, it is gaining ground in most of the countries having hyperinflation especially South America and African countries

I'm from Venezuela, and this is an excellent guide in how to exchange to BSF without problems I been using SurBtc from a long time and always has the best prices in the market and usually take 1-day maximum to receive the money.
