Thanks for the visitors today - and your feedback.

One aspect keeps coming up though:

Should play be on-chain or off-chain?

For on-chain play, there's no need to register, verify, load up an "account". All transactions/plays are viewable on the blockchain. But there's more of a hit due to fees. We actually contribute 0.0001BTC towards fees when sending winnings. Is that enough to make it worthwhile to players?
Players having accounts adds to the security workload of a website. We'd also rather not hang onto players' funds any longer than necessary. Both of these aspects make a website more of a target for hackers.

We were originally on-chain, then we changed to off-chain but then people complained about having to sign up!

Is the answer to implement both?
Or do players prefer on-chain for more peace of mind?
Or maybe it's a case of "you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time"?

The idea is pretty dope actually..
But,how can I see if this is provably fair?

How to verify results ? Are the game results probably fair? I don't see any thing regarding fairness of the results, no secret key or seed nothing to verify results.

Also what is the house edge?

Provability / fairness:

If you click on the question mark icon https://bitcoin-arcade.com/images/info.png
then click on the microscope icon https://bitcoin-arcade.com/images/fairness.png
then you should see a list of hashes of future seeds plus the results of previous races/grabs.

We publish the hashes of future seeds in advance so you can check they don't change when people play.
There used to be a detailed walk-through of using the seed, etc. but we removed it as it took up too much room.

Essentially there's a SHA256 hash of the seed and a fixed string to provide an integer that maps to a winner.

Your site is giving me a certificate error. You may want to fix that. It says that my connection is not secure. I am currently using mobile. I did not proceed. Hope you can fix that soon because I like the idea of this game of yours. Wish you could give some free bits to try out and see how the game works for starters.

The website has a brand-new SSL cert as of 26th November 2016 which checks out fine on Chrome but I see the same issue on my Android.
(I have to admit I don't browse websites on my phone)

I'll get onto this ASAP!

How much confirmation does it require to send back wining? Is it only 1 or 2

We publish the hashes of future seeds in advance so you can check they don't change when people play.
How to check game id? there is no any info regarding game id in the game history also it seems that probably fair page isn't updating in real time.

Your site is giving me a certificate error.
OK, that error has gone away on my mobile now - can you check with yours please?
It turned out to be a missing "intermediate" certificate that linked the website's certificate with the root CA's certificate.
I guess Chrome has secret sauce to somehow cache/know/find/download that certificate where my mobile did not (although Android is made by Google too so work that one out!)

Visited the site, looks interesting with flat graphic design catching eyes, I like it.
Like people said the provably fair should be place to page tab which presenting the provably fair description.
The notify about the result game is should be adding, if I play multiple game and the amount is just a random btc, I don't know where it's come from, probably adding a transaction information for every bet is good idea, for example I bet on toy game, so I get a game ID, when the result come out it's also show a game ID which I have been take a bet.

And one question, how if the network become slow? When I try to send an amount to deposit for a bet, but the network become slow and the game has been running. I see horse games running fast game.

Seriously? A 10.32% house edge for your 2x multiplier game?

https://i.imgur.com/ZVTH54u.png

Do you actually expect people to bet and be expected to lose 10% of their wager, every time. Bitsler (and most dice sites) offer less than or equal to a 1% house edge, and you guys are 10 times that. Just crazy. Even those non provably fair slot games have a lower edge. 8.359% edge for your arcade game, slightly better but still crap.

Code:
-0.5*(3665/10000)+-0.3*(2618/10000)+0.1*(1666/10000)+0.2*(1527/10000)+2.5*(524/10000)

Love the site/idea, but your house edge is too high.

We asked for your feedback and made some changes:

It's now easier to check and verify the fairness of the games that you play.
https://bitcoin-arcade.com/images/bet-history.png
You can click on the game ID which will take you to the fairness entry for that game.

You said our house edge was too high - we were originally matching the odds from the real seaside games. It's now down from around 10% to around 1.5%.

You're now more likely to win, and we have payouts up to x25 your stake, so come along and join the fun!  :)

I really like your arcade.

In my opinion a lot of casinos are too overloaded with features; I'd rather have retro games like this than fancy slot games that aren't provably fair. And good on you for lowering the house edge for a fairer size.

The consept is really great and "invite" you to play and bet but the house edge... ::)
imho it would be great to fix the rate (lower them) for all the games and not in one.
even if its the most popular...

We've now added support for BURST (http://www.burst-team.us/).
If you've not heard of BURST before, it's an energy-efficient, proof of capacity coin which you can even mine from your phone!

We plan to add more currencies soon, but next we will be creating our new Wheel of Fortune game - watch this space!

This is a clever and new take on gambling. A claw machine. But of coarse you do not control the claw . That would be cool though.  :P
Dont think its possible.  :o

I think your site will do fairly well with your new idea it adds a nice visual aspect thst was before some what lacking.

Well the best is always to implement both!

I have to say I found the on-chain aspect... Very strange. It's really unusual.
Not bad in itself of course, but it's a very old mechanism (goes well with your design/universe though ^^)
I wouldn't play on an on chain game. Not because it's bad but because transaction times are really impossible to predict! You could send the money and play only 50 games after.

But being nearly the only site doing so also gets you all the players that think exactly the contrary :D

Please make a way to skip the animations when someone gambles. I placed 18 bets on your arcade wheel (https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/f1104c7556c44942bee3491ac4432edcaacfe20ca705232e184d23b53a258831), and it was quite frustrating to wait 10-20 seconds per bet, for 18 of them. Maybe if there is more than X bets in one transaction, the results show instantly? Quite frustrating waiting a few minutes to see how much I won/lost. I did enjoy seeing the first few, so maybe fast forward it if there are too many bets together? Took 6 minutes to see everything.

Had some good luck though, so I won't complain.

(not shown are 3 losses)

Wheel of fortune is fun - thanks for playing!

Next we're thinking of making it possible for you to create your own derby race - name the racecourse and horses, set the odds AND then giving you a percentage of the profits at the end of the day.

Would you give it a go?

More Wheel of Fortune would be fun. But I think I will go for this Derby race. However just make it not so complicated as there are a lot of first timers out there.

Nice! pretty good mining through your phone and I think I have never heard of Burstcoin before but yes other coins like this needs time to make it's value up and I think your site is pretty much convincing 10,000 burstcoin is equal to $ 7.10 Dollar for the meantime which is not bad, and has less energy consumption too, let me think first if I would try it, just let me enjoy your gambling first!

The create your own Derby page will be an extra feature, so you'll still be able to enjoy our standard games too.

That's a very good idea, but do you know why?
Not because it'll make people win money,
but because it is an ORIGINAL idea! Which is so freaking rare in gambling with btc xD

I don't think anything like that exists. The only problem would be who has the bankroll? You or the person creating the Derby race page?

Sounds kinda like ★ The Lucky Bit "Make Your Own Game" Promotion! ★ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=873587.0). Would be fun to do for sure, and if you decide to do it, I suggest doing it like Luckybit did and maybe require them to wager 0.001BTC or another number to participate if you want more volume. 1 day is probably too little imo as there might be next to 0 volume on that day.

Would you give it a go?
Yes, I'd create a +EV line for myself and steal all your bankroll :P assuming no limitations

2 Questions,

It says

For every game, a random secret string is generated and we publish the SHA256 hash for this ahead of time.

Where is this secret SHA256 hash posted exactly? I can't find it.

There is now a direct link to it from the list below the games which is added every time someone plays a go.
You can also see them up to 10 or so games in advance (so you can check we're playing fair!) by clicking on the ? button.

For the horse game, what is the house edge exactly. Is it the White hour which is 3.94%? So does that mean the house edge is 4% for that game?

After feedback that it was too high, we changed our house edge.  We now have a 98.52% payout for the Derby game, which I believe is one of the best out there.

The 3.94% you mentioned is the likelihood of the white horse winning - some horses are more likely to  win but have smaller payouts, e.g.
red has a probability of 49.26% to win and pays out X 2.  The white horse has a smaller chance of winning, but a MUCH higher payout of X 25.

So you can play how you like!

Bigger risk = a chance of a much bigger return, or play more likely to win but with smaller multipliers.

Hope that helps! :)

Thank you so much for your feedback - really makes our week!  ;D

I think you're totally right about an on site balance - we were looking into using MoneyPot today, but I'm not sure it's a good answer for us.
An on-site balance would mean registering and logging in to retrieve or play your funds, either that or saving a unique url (which isn't all that secure).

There's obviously the issue of price fluctuations in BitCoin too.
Previously we gave users the option to buy tokens at a set rate, then cash them out later at the same rate.

However any and all suggestions gratefully received!  ;)
