Title: Is this mining rig relevant ? (4xTesla K80+ Xeon E5-2695 (56 cores)
Post by: hexcode on December 12, 2016, 05:58:10 PM
I've got 4 NVidea Tesla K80s + Xeon E5-2695 (56 cores).

I know this might be a vague question, but if I joined a mining pool... and could mine for atleast 8 hours a day. Do you think I could make "any kind of money" with it? I'm not talking about a profit here. Just to know a minimum possible return in terms of this hardware. I've been off the scene for a while and I'm not sure if this hardware setup is relevant by today's standards.

Computers are not relevant to bitcoin mining any more, so no. You'd be wasting some excellent hardware there to do nothing but use a lot of electricity. All bitcoin mining is done with dedicated ASIC mining hardware that is 100x faster at mining and uses 100x less electricity. Even with free electricity you'd never earn anything of any significance from a pool - the denomination would be so small it would take a year to get a payout of a few cents.

Yes. look into eth and zcash,
both would earn you some money, especially with free electricity
