help me

Im have one Motherboard gigabyte 790A-DS3P
and two sapphiore RX470 OC of 4gb
im using windows 10

with one cards all works fine
im put  the 2nd video card
all is ok
the pc recognize the 2 video cards

And when starting the claymore's the pc shutdown

what im need to do ?

What power supply, wattage?

Underclock everything to consume less Power Just to test

1. Make sure psu 450w and above for rates 80 plus bronze.

2. Uninstall catalyst and delete all existing drivers and re install

3. Undervolt the card

4. Worse case revisit your ROM and see if you have flash correct and if all fails reflash to original

5. Turn all pci to X1 AGP

im have a psu of 500w

but im turn on a second psu  and put thw second video card in this psu!  and the problem persists

im not using overclock

what is undervolt the card?

obs : im need to active the crossfire?

This sounds like it is a driver issue! Remove in safe mode and re-install as administrator.

Reboot.

After that go to AMD Radeon Settings and disable crossfire if activated.

Your PSU is very very weak, only 18A @12V. So it can deliver only 216W for GPU. More than one gpu is suicide,  although I would not use this PSU for mining even with one card

EVGA makes nice PSU's - their slightly expensive, but worth it.
But yes, your PSU is the problem here.

Agreed it could also be a PSU problem but I did have a PSU with a single 18A rail which was fine for 2 x RX 480 GPU.

As he mentioned he has used 2 power supplies one to power each card...

The problem is "Unsupported Overdrive version 7" which I believe is a registry issue.

Restart in safe mode

I'm running this command and after starting the 7.4 claymores it keeps turning it off.

I followed the suggsy8 guidelines and uninstall the driver in safe mode and installed a new driver

First. Uninstall AMD 16.12.1

Next install AMD 16.11.3

Then install msi afterburner 4.3

Set. Afterburner  at - 50 for under volt

Set power at -10

Set core at 1100

Set memory at 1600

Set fans at 75

Open eth. And let it rip

By the way your psu is really weak and sucks

im not using usb riser now !!! it is a problem?

yeah  your adapters are also weak.

get a real psu.  can you shop at amazon?  if not alibaba   has some good sellers or maybe ebay.   what country are you in.

not sure if you wired the second pc up correctly .  do you speak Portuguese ?

I don't but maybe someone is able to speak it that can help?  anyone reading this can you translate a bit.

I think your problem is power related , maybe some driver issue.

did you tried switching pci slots ? probably you can not , bc you are not using powered risers and have only 2 x PCI Express x16 on the motherboard and 3 x PCI Express x1 slots.

Build a system with 7 or 8 gpu , that is not that easy for a beginner , if you can not deal with 2 gpu forget that rig with 7-8 gpu till you learn a lot more about building rigs , calculating necessary power supply wattage . If you get a right motherboard , PSU , powered risers you can easy build a 6 card setup , but you have to spend some money :)

if you are planning to build or later upgrade your system for a 7-8 gpu setup i would suggest any of this PSU's

or you can use  same watt rated server psu with breakout board

- make sure you have more than 2GB of system memory at least 4GB
- make sure your set  min 16GB of virtual memory in windows
- make sure you have a psu that can handle the load
- you sounds like a beginner :) , so my suggestion is : dont use 2 psu , if you doing it a wrong way , you can kill any of your system components , ( motherboard , gpu , cpu , memory modules , hdd )
- don't use those adapters you have on your pictures , get a real psu !!!
- get at least 2 powered usb risers and try to switch those pci slots around
- don't switch to win 7 from win 10 , you going to have more problem

the motherboard have 1 slot pci express 16x , one slot pci express4x and 3 slots pci express 1x

and im have a motherboard gigabyte 790A-DS3P that have one pci expresss 16x and another pci express 4x

the first video card are in pci express 16x, and the second video card are in the slot pci express 4x

im not have risers.. the video cards Are directly connected to the express pci slots

I put both psu just to test if psu's power failure problem, I did it only once to test

now im using only one psu.! my system have 8 gb of ddr3

Do you think it would be better to use the usb risers instead of goddess directly connected in the express slotpci?

Almir, I'm from Brazil too, your problem is certainly the PSU, it's very weak. You can buy the Corsair CX750 to hold up to 3 RX 470, so you can get an idea.

Almir, eu sou do Brasil também, o seu problema é com certeza a fonte, ela é muito fraca. Vc pode comprar a Corsair CX750 para segurar até 3 RX 470, já da p vc ter uma ideia.

You have 500W psu powering motherboard, pci-e and one card?
12V 16A can support only 192W
motherboard with cpu disk etc will take about 60W + rx series have tends to take more power from pci-e, so you shoud expect about 75W per card = 210W ....Not to mention that you powered one card external so add 100-150W more

Try motherboard to one psu, external pins of both card from second
(or just motherboard can not support that power draw from pci-e, you could try powered risers too)

It depends how much power card draw and what voltage use (usual 12V) and compare what amps can psu deliver for that voltage line, you should think that spikes can be even larger than avarage draw, i never tryed calculate it for self, always played safe and deviler power that card can use on full load even if not use all

I would assume that rx470 on full load would use all 80W from pci-e and rest from external connector, like 180W, ofc when mining it will use less so i would calculate proportional, so like  40W from pci-e and 90W from external connection

powered USB risers not use less energy, just not every motherboard can power many cards

I am using a 600w evga White 80+ psu, cheap and 49A on 12v rail. Got 2 xfx single fan rx470... Motherboard Itautec st-4272 (gigabyte q67m-d2h-b3), working fine.
