There are many bitcoin exchange/trading platforms like kraken, bitfinex, poloniex, bittrex and many others. I usually trade altcoins rather than buying bitcoin from the platform for which i use poloniex most of the time.

You can check https://www.bitcoin.com/buy-bitcoin to see full list of bitcoin exchange platform from where you can buy bitcoins.

One very trusted is Poloniex, people are investing high there. Many alt-coins options and one of the favorite exchanges to practice trade. There is an option to lend money to traders there too, it can return you some little interest over your money, low profit, but safe.

Another option is Yobit, which you can find on my Signature Spot. Yobit has many alt-coins, Dice game, one new another gambling game and many people are using this exchange too.

There are anothers, but I'm not acquainted with them.

Poloniex, kraken, bitfinnex, bits stamp, your...etc were few of the exchange websites that are popular among the users and preferred based upon locality and other limitations. European countries users prefer kraken. For trusted investment poloniex is preferred and for trading with new digital coins that emerge regularly yobit is used.

It's depend on purpose and reasons on how people are choosing respective online exchanges to deal with their bitcoin activity since not all exchanges obviously have the same feature and location availability.

In my case, bitcoin trading mostly done at Bitstamp and altcoin trading purposes on Poloniex, Cryptopia and Ccex since these altcoin exchanges have the same coins listed in their exchanges.

For withdrawing purposes, look at those exchanges that can give you a less hassle way to convert your bitcoins into cash. I used our local exchanges here since using it is just one click away. Really a comfortable one.

Nowadays due to a project I am not doing much trade but only a small amount so I am using only yobit and coinexchange for my smaller trade these both are also good for higher trade deals and I also sometime use poloniex for my uses.

poloniex only the best altcoin exchanger and right place to trading growth your money
but if want buy and selling use fiat money poloniex not right placed, because only support USDT(tether) can't support bank transfer

Hmmm... when you say withdrawing, you mean changing to fiat, right?

If so, are you are suggesting that i use a local exchange to change the bitcoins that i currently have? If there arent any local exchanges, what other options do i have to convert my bitcoins into fiat currency?

If you are interested in bitcoins to fiat currency then try to use localbitcoins.com because they are providing very good options for this and hopefully you can meet any local exchanger because no other exchange providing this service right now
