If you do it repeatedly, then yes you will get banned.

You'll get banned for copy pasting replies.  There are 2 kinds of bans; temporary which be lifted after some days/weeks (so that means you can use your account again), and permanent which is self explanatory.

Nuh uh.  You can get banned with 1 copy paste.  Although sometimes the mods might be nice and give you a warning first.

i just want to add, if a user gets banned even temporary or permanent, using new/another account and posting outside of meta will lead you to be banned permanently as a person because of ban evasion

Its 3 strikes and out. The ban just gets longer, if you try to evade with 30 days being the 'last straw'

If you copy some content from Google and format is either in double quotes ("") and reference appropriately (e.g. some dude on the Internet said "blah, blah, blah") or with the Insert Quote button, there should be no problems, as far as I can tell. If you just copy some text and make it look as if it were your own thought, you may get banned for copy-pasting, though this is debatable, at least for short sentences. Also, there are some sayings, proverbs and wisdoms, which, as I can guess, could be used without any limitations (e.g. brevity is the soul of wit)...

Personally, I usually also mention who is the author of some (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1691393.msg17158466#msg17158466) thought or quotation that I use

Let's join a signature campaign first, read the rules of the forum second.   Oh wait, you didn't read them.  You created a bullshit topic asking what they are, instead of doing that.   You can get banned for shitposting, and my guess is you probably will eventually.

Only 3?
It should be automatic and a Permaban if I was a moderator here. >:(

Plagiarising is a serious offense in some countries that can equate to jail time for stealing other's life long work. :P

It's three in the event that it's not a copy & paste ban. Spam, excessive trolling and the like will result in temporary bans (IIRC). Those time durations go from 7/14/30 days.

Edraket31 was talking about a general case, and as was brituspol.

Copying and pasting results in a permanent ban, period.

what's the point of doing it in the first place? it probably takes just as much time as writing a real post by the time you've found something else to copy and paste. anyone caught doing it fully deserves to be nuked.

There may be some sense in copy-pasting from Google after all

If there is no fluency in English, that's pretty much all what's left for those participating in a signature campaign that requires posting in a good enough English. Also, some people may have issues with expressing the same thought or idea in their own words. And it certainly takes some time to first understand it, then paraphrase it, and finally spit it out, not forgetting to add a word or two about what you personally think of all that. But you should know it yourself (at least, I do)

good point. i hadn't thought of the foreign language angle but you'd still need a sense of what the thread was about to not stick out too badly.

i prefer google translate garbage myself. at least it shows they're trying to express their own thoughts.

some people are lazy enough to think for themselves and prefer to use regirgitated content=copy paste other people's ideas and messages
but there is a whole lot of aspiring signature spammers and multiaccounts for sale that use it to increase their post count
also to many of them english is not mother tongue, but the local section doesn't pay in sig camapigns(or pays half) so they have no better ideas other than copy paste
either that or post in singlish(pd users will understand, lol)
