Title: Looking for a cheap, mint condition 1 BTC unloaded coin.
Post by: Decoded on December 18, 2016, 04:06:17 AM
Hey guys, I've gathered up multiple BTC recently and have decided to put one into a coin. If I like it, I put all my Bitcoin into coins.

I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive, because if it were up to me I would buy a Kialara Original and die with no regrets. But sadly I don't have that luxury.

So I'm looking for a good looking coin that's fairly cheap, under 0.1 BTC including shipping, labelled with "1 BTC" or the like, and hopefully comes in a good condition.

Please recommend a coin, or even better PM me with a coin that you own and would like to sell.

Keep on living the crypto life,
D

Usually cheap and bitcoin coins don't go together :P

Some ones that meet your specifications might be

1 BTC BTCC coin:

Lealana:

Or look around for some DIY coins.

Good luck!

Whatever you do don't load a Kialara, they are a piece of art and have to be almost totally destroyed to get to the private key if you need the btc one day.
Maybe think about one of the gold bars getting around, they are inexpensive and can be loaded, they also look cool too.

Why not just buy a Trezer 2 when they are released or for something a little different a silver wallet.

I have some casascius unloaded (redeemed) brass singles from 2012, you will need your own holo though which can be had for cheap.  Dont know if that is what you want to do though.  If you want to a preloaded 1btc then yes btcc has some nice coins for fairly cheap or a nice silver lealana is a good choice...

They didn't have labeled "1 Btc" but for your price i think a Silver Wallet design 1 its a good option, www.silverwallets.com

I would recommend going with a lealana like wheelz said. They were mass produced and won't have too much of an affect on the after market. Comes with generated key and holo already attached.

A coins private key which is paper covered with a plastic sticker is not going to survive a fire.  There are private key solutions made of steel that would do better.

Or you can place whatever it is, paper wallet, coin whatever in a fireproof safe.  If you plan on having an amount on there that you fear a fire will destroy then i advise a fire proof safe. (Or a duplicate copy) somewhere else where simutaneous fires is probably next to impossible.

Could I suggest a Keyois capsule?   They are super nice long term storage solutions.

There are also Cryptocracy coins and Supreme BTC which are relatively cheap.

You'll have to print your own private key then stick the provided Hologram on top of it.

These look real cool, futuristic like.
The only problem is i think you have to just about completely destroy the thing to get your private key out, correct me if i'm wrong please.

With most coins you pretty much have to destroy it (well peel the holo) to access the stored funds but yeah i think you pretty much have to wreck that thing to get to your keys.  Does look cool thkugh  :)

Wheelz, you going to come up with a Genesis series 3? Because I owned a couple of yours and I loved them. Recently passed them on to Minerjones, though.

I might deposit into your coins, if they look as good as last time!

You're totally correct, it's more like a piggy bank than a traditional physical bitcoin.

that said, that you have to pretty much destroy it is a feature not a bug; it's tamper evident and so the idea is if anyone get's ahold your secret key there is no way to hide it. If you've written down your key and someone takes a photo of it, you wouldn't know until it's too late.
