I am mining with windows 7 xp 64 bit installed on a 40 GB Intel SSD, but I want to start mining litecoins and I can't fit everything on my SSD. I have a backup 1TB seagate mechanical drive. I am wondering - Should I put my OS on the mechanical drive? How much does the mining depend on the drive its installed on. what would the effect on cost be? Title: Re: SSD versus HDD? As for space on the SSD, google "disable windows hibernate". That will save you however much RAM (4GB, 8GB, 16GB etc) you have in SSD space. Title: Re: SSD versus HDD? You could always just uninstall some programs and re-install them to the other non-SSD drive. I think leaving the bitcoin folder in its default location is a better approach, since I think the bitcoin software might be more at risk to not work properly when not in its default location :) Title: Re: SSD versus HDD?
