Title: Can I buy FPGAs from BFL anymore?
Post by: wblabla4 on April 10, 2013, 05:03:21 AM
They don't exist on their products page even though I know that they sold FPGAs before. Are they replaced by ASICs now?

They have shipped FPGAs in the past. No you cannot buy them from BFL any longer.

Maybe more time it will reflect better on BFL - however at the moment, errr.

Does anyone sell FGPAs? Would rather buy something dedicated to mining instead of gpus

That's almost surely a mistake. GPUs can be used to mine different algorithms. FPGAs can currently mine only sha-256.

Is it me or is FPGA development basically dead?
Almost every vendor except ZTEX has broken websites or has gone out of business.

It's not just you.

It's entirely possible that one particular ASIC vaporware mining product producer sent the FPGA mining hardware market to an early grave with a premature announcement of ASIC mining hardware products that they're still unable to produce nearly one year later.
