Its not a question if it can be mined but if it can be profitable for you to mine it....

Bitcoin is not an alt coin, this means an alternative to Bitcoin.

You can technically mine any crypto but the question is what is profitable.

Bitcoin and many others are not profitable without a specific device for mining bitcoins

The below are profitable with normal GPU,

Dagger Hashimoto - Ethereum, Ethereum Classic

Equihash - Zcash, Zclassic

CryptoNight - Monroe

There are others and some CPU coins but you will need to look around as to what fits your specific requirements.

Try coinwarz.com or whattomine.com if you know your computing power - if you don't you will surely need to find out.

IMHO you should simply download nice hash miner e let it run for a complete benchark.
You will get a concrete estimate about how much you can gain simply running it.
Eventually, after you discovered on which algorithm you perform better, you can run it directly.

You can mine the Ethereum or Zcash. But not very profitable.

Look for a Pow algo those are you can mine with gpu or cpu or sha256 those that can mine with gpu and cpu..
Like ethereum dogecoin and monero.. try to mine ethereum since it is top 2 in coin market cap and i think it is still profitable to mine those coins..
And try monero because the price is high and i think it can be increase more in this following year..

That has to be mined by ASIC.

It seems like there is a relatively new company providing more efficient mining equipment. The name of the company is pandaminer, and it seems that, using the equipment provided by them, it is possible to mine cryptos like Monero, ZCash and Ethereum.

I haven't tested it, but there is more information here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1668461

It's no more efficient than a well-tuned standard multi-GPU rig.
It also costs more per GPU than if you can do it yourself.
It IS fairly compact, and if you're not good at building your own hardware it would be a viable option.

Certainly less resale value though, compared to buying GFX cards which can always be sold onto gamers easily when you're done with them.
