Title: Very low hash
Post by: Nikeboy on April 10, 2013, 09:02:56 AM
Hello i just started ltc mining with a pool and im getting 33 khash/s on a 6850 which seems to be a ultra low number for this gpu, is there something im missing?

I'm very new to this but this is what i found in the console
Code:

are you sure you have set all the params correct for that particular card?

yes, there was a default setting for for the program i was using and i just selected the card. no matter what i did to adjust the parameters, the highest i could get was 35kh/s. Im on a built rig but this seems to be laptop numbers

that's not even laptop numbers, my macbook get more than that if I optimise everything. You should definitely be getting more from that card IMO. Two questions:
1. What miner are you using?
2. What pool are you connected to?

Edit: just seen you're using cgminer.

Have you tried using reaper? as in my experience it s much better than cgminer.

i tried using reaper and im still only getting 45 kh/s which is still beyond low

Use cgminer & play around with the INTENSITY option, I get 5 Mh/s with my GT 220  I can bost it to 8 MH/s if i push the intensity to 12 (Max = 20)

the default intensity was 18. and it was still only kh/s and not Mh/s

Maybe you should try downgrading to some 12.x drivers (not 12.10, they're know to f up harhrates), and see if that solves the issue.

may sound silly but try unplugging and replugging in the card
