Title: Did he fire 7 shots or only six? (Andrei Karlov)
Post by: Phinnaeus Gage on December 19, 2016, 07:55:26 PM
EDIT: I just realized that I penned this thread (and posts) using Gage's account and not my Gleb account.

Embaixador Russo, é Assassinado na Turquia (IMAGENS FORTES) Andrei Karlov 19/12/2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1neTy21APGQ (may soon be taken down my YT, but me's haz a copy)

So, after at least six shoots were unloaded into Andrei, the gunman was able to wave his assumed empty weapon all about during his minutes-long rant while officers in the room begged for backup because during all the excitement they didn't feel lucky that the gun was spent.

Translated: "I may or may not have one bullet left. Any of you crack security team guarding the now dead Russian ambassador feel lucky? Allah is great! And before I forget, have I mentioned Aleppo yet?"

Andrei Karlov's last words: So, you want me to go that podium in front of a pic of a canon, eh? Mmmkay. What could possibly go wrong in an art gallery?

The plot thickens. Take a look at the dude who first penned the Wikipedia entry on Andrei Karlov minutes after the attack: https://www.facebook.com/profcarolmswain/posts/1269068999785455

It is obviously someone with a leftist political agenda based on what was inserted and removed. This person has spent an enormous amount of time massaging my page.

What exactly is your point here? Are you saying that the gunman took longer than expected to be shot by police?

Also I counted at least 8 shots, possibly 9 (if the audio has not been edited).

My point is that most likely the gun was empty while the gunman went on his diatribe to the crunched down security team guarding Karlov, among others, with nary a soul charging him. There's even a slight possibility that this was all staged and that old-fart Andrei is now formally retired to live the life of <insert Russian counterpart for Riley here>.

All these are possibilities, correct. But let's do some actual research.

First off, we need to know the model of gun the assassin used, and the magazine capacity. It would make sense for the assassin to use a full magazine, and I suspect that most modern semi-auto pistols carry more than 8 or 9 rounds in a magazine. I'm absolutley not a gun expert though, just speculating.

I don't really see why it matters whether the gun was empty or not, everyone at the scene would assume that it wasn't, for their own safety.

As for the fact that he wasn't gunned down earlier, eg straight after he pulled his weapon, could be down to poorly trained security, and the fact the meeting was in an unlikely place for an assassination, taking them off guard. Of course, another scenario could be that the security team were paid off, or had ulterior motives and wanted the ambassador killed.

Until more evidence surfaces it makes no sense to speculate about things like "staged assassinations" etc. Of course it's possible, but pretty unlikely at this point.
