This is horrible news... I'm going to stick with Bitstamp, because we seriously need diversity in markets...

you are at btc-e, right?
Are you going to move? Trading volume hasn't been high anyway. And price is often around 10-15 USD lower.

This just pushes people away from Mtgox faster and shouldnt affect the market really at all. Great thing, in my book.

That's Bitstamp, what does it have to do with your OP?

Bistamp should have nice volume rise with that =) And pretty fiat load, as price will be much lower than on gox. I suppose speculants will start load wires to bitsamp to buy out "cheap coins" and dump them on gox.

This avalanche probably should cover all other secondary exchanges.

I saw the opposite picture a few days ago. I'm not sure what you are trying to say because it moves back and forth.

if gox ever goes down the volume and depth will go to other exchanges.

Prepare your brain for something complex.

It moves back coz of mtgox codes, which will stop function in less than hour.

Problem is, most other exchanges (that I know of) are either really difficult and/or expensive to get fiat in/out of (especially for someone not in the USA) or have really shitty prices.

If I could get non-USD into btc-e I'd be buying there in a heartbeat.

Think it will have any effect on altcoins?

bitstamp or https://bitcoin-24.com/ are far superior to mtgox on many levels. forget btc-e its built by trolls, for trolls.
