Title: Price stabilization
Post by: bitcoinTrader on June 15, 2011, 08:15:36 AM
I have been observing price on mtgox.com through bitcoinwatch.com, and it doesnt seem to vary too much.
Has the price settled?
Or is mtgox not working, since I notice volume is decreasing consistently?
Or is there very less interest now in bitcoin which has led to low volume?

Any thoughts?

Stupid

Not installing chrome just so I can see those two webpages, there is nothing chrome does that FF3 can't do. Fuck forcing users of your website to use only a specific browser

Actually ... there is - websockets. FF3 can't do it and it's disabled in FF4 by default ... so, that's why chrome. I'm using FF too but installed chromium for these two sites, I'm back to FF as soon as it supports websockets by default.

I highly doubt the natural price just happens to converge to 20 USD. It's not stable, look at the volume! Everybody has simply stopped exchanging!

This is psycho-nonsense. We'll be able to get a better feel on the market once the staring contest ends. Well, at least we know that nobody has a clue where the real value is, and everybody thinks he's on the correct side. That doesn't make any sense, but what can I say?

Someone will have to move eventually! I hope it'll happen some time soon, this is like hitting a pause button; the speculation game needs to be finally settled and a reasonable price found. This jumpiness is surely scaring off traders.

It will be a panic sell, I bet.

You can literary bet, sell your bitcoins and buy when the crash happens ... that's what I'm doing, the crash is imminent any moment now. It depends only when will the buyers realize the price isn't going any higher, it's going to slowly decline instead as new coins are mined and sold off until the panic happens ;) watch, it will be fun soon IMO!

It's as if some rich guy/organisation has put in an enormous buy order at 19 and an enormous sell order at 20.
That could be why it is trading in this range only.
And they are making a little bit of profit every time it bounces between the 2 prices.

Great idea. This is doable even with 2 bitcoins!

Price seems to have fallen more and stabilized at 15.
Is this the real bitcoin price?
