It mainly depends by bitcoin's behavior because if it goes to ATH and above it's possible to see ETH under 700K sats or less.

Very thought call indeed. You may think ETH is right now at its lowest, and it may look like a good buying point, I dont disagree in principle, but I think it's pretty safe to say that bitcoin is going to experience a new ATH during 2017, and it may go wildly high, more than we can imagine just like last time. If that happens, 2 scenarios are possible:

1) Everyone solds their ETH for more BTC
2) BTC going sky high puts interest in crypto in general and both BTC and ETH go up

If it is still under some kinds of attack in the near future, the price will not rise. The program needs to be more robust.

i think is time to sell Because why? BTC this price look more profitable than focus with eth. if you see the price bitcoin will going down nah now you can buy altcoin (eth, LTC, doge or other coins) i suggest now keep focusing to btc :)

A lot were saying it goes over $2000 in January. But I just bet about the number 1. With a lot of the project have based with the ethereum platform seems like ICN and other. Ether must be ready for lost some of his market capitalization. among bitcoin and ether, there is a gap. but we will see the other coin have based on their platform will take over some of the places in the high place of the market cap.

We have already seen lower prices the past days, I do not think, we have reached bottom yet.

bitcoin to $806 right now and still rising, i doubt that any of the altcoins specially an altcoin like ETH which is known to go down when bitcoin is rising, can ever rise during this time. so my suggestion is to stay away for the time being because prices in ETH market are falling fast and will continue falling fast for the foreseeable future.

Well, it's true ETH is very low but I doubt if it will rise again since a lot of investors are moving to the zcash and ETH is losing out. If I was you I'd wait and study the terrain at least for the first month in 2017.

A lot of investors might keep their money in Bitcoin right now, so the price of alts is bound to get cheaper.
If you really believe in the long-term prospects of a project, you may be able to pick up some coins at a great price.

I'm a little hesitant to invest in Eth right now at the current price, I'm choosing to do a tiny investment in Monero and keep the rest in Bitcoin for now,
but if the price of Eth drops a bit further I might be tempted.
(Same for Augur which is a really cool idea.)

ETH is not looking good and it will be best to stay away from investing money into it apart from mining; maybe after a careful observation over some weeks it suddenly starts to move up then you quickly buy them and hope for further rise.

the key is always to buy at the bottom before the reversal. and finding that bottom is hard and it is impossible with altcoins because of the manipulations.

because of this nobody can tell you if you are right or wrong. yes price has fallen, but we don't know if it is the bottom or the "lowest point" because it may still go down.

This is the hardest part on doing trading because we dont know on which point would be the lowest price and emotions and decision would really be affected.The best time to buy ETH should really be at the lowest but our mind tell us if we buy now it may down its price even more and thats the time emotion would really bothers us.

I dont know whether it is a good idea to buy eth, eth at the lowest because the trust level for this coin is so low, after the big fall will eth be able to back again? Judge from the situation i think it is difficult for eth to back again, i think i prefer to choose another coin to buy

We hit the 830 dollar mark today, now it's correcting a bit but this is a very healthy rally. I would not last long outside of bitcoin, it's a bad idea to sell for anything. If you have BTC just keep them, risk/reward ratio is simply not worth trying to make more BTC right now by betting on some altcoin that may break the next morning.

bitcoin is not the same bitcoin as usage etheruem onyl a pump and dump, with heavy centralized project, too many coin were dumped by vitalik, that is enough to prove the credibility of it, i would not invest a penny right now on etehruem there are better alternative

Firstly why can you expect people to take you seriously when you can't even speak the queens English? BTC is clearly different to ETH but it always was. That doesn't mean you shouldn't invest in ETH just because it has a different market.

Coming future you can't express but our prediction helped to realize it earlier.So it heard to believe anyone specially when bitcoin already over $820 right now and still continue rising on other hand it seems pretty doubt can ETH is the best choice right now?You should bear in mind ETH kind of different marketplace also different strategy to make profit.

ETC is really coming up.  I would by classic over the mutation anyday.

Let the dust settle before buying anymore. I'd say it could fall a bit more. But I would also say the turn around is coming soon so I would say its a bit too late to sell at this point. If you really want to catch the falling knife I'd say sell right now but buy back at 5%-10% down and then hold for the rebound thats sure to come. ETH is not done quite yet.

bitcoin price rise is ruining all the speculations in altcoin market because like always all the investors are pulling out their money from altcoin market and putting it back into bitcoin in order not to miss out on the bigger rises ahead of it and make more profit there with trading bitcoin instead.
that is why ethereum and by extension most other altcoins are a bad investment at the moment.

In a few months, some big altcoins will be pumped.
