Title: typical Bitcoin user Post by: joe1234 on December 20, 2016, 05:32:15 PM Hello Forum
are there studies/surveys about Bitcoin-users? If possible structured in: - age - profession - country Thank you very much! Joe Title: Re: typical Bitcoin user Post by: OmegaStarScream on December 20, 2016, 06:25:32 PM It's pretty much impossible to get those information's , age is not required while making a bitcoin address/wallet and profession is clearly not too , and finally this is valid for the country too but even If the wallet you are using reads your IP , It doesn't mean anything as Bitcoin users care about their privacy and most likely using the wallet through ToR or a VPN.
Now of course , exchanges gather information's such as Birthdate , name and that kind of stuff but the users who provide real info are a minority so It's impossible to get an accurate number. Title: Re: typical Bitcoin user Post by: Coin-Keeper on December 20, 2016, 07:56:24 PM I agree with the post above this one. I know I personally would never surrender those details. The closest you might get is if you had access to an exchange database, like Coinbase, where actual names are used with bank accounts. After reflection though, I am not convinced those users' demographics would generalize well to the BTC population.
Title: Re: typical Bitcoin user Post by: monbux on December 23, 2016, 02:58:13 AM Hello Forum Most bitcoin users like myself wouldn't really like to give up this kind of information. However, I remember that Coindesk published something like this a while back.are there studies/surveys about Bitcoin-users? If possible structured in: - age - profession - country Thank you very much! Personally I think this will change in the future, as bitcoin gets more and more user friendly. Right now, probably 20-40 year olds are the ones using it. Most heard of it at around 2013, aka the price hike. Title: Re: typical Bitcoin user Post by: mrcash02 on December 23, 2016, 06:07:54 AM Hello Forum are there studies/surveys about Bitcoin-users? Joe Impossible to know exactly, we can only speculate about it. - age: in the 20's house. - profession: unemployed - country: Phillipines, India, Indonesia and arabian countries. ;D I think it's the most common profile of Bitcoin enthusiasts, at least that is what I see on the internet. What do you think? Because elusive nature of bitcoin you can't really estimate who is using/owning coins, you can't track or keep index of bitcoin users, not to mention learn who they are IRL. Some articles: https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-user-demographics-european-males-age-25-34/ (https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-user-demographics-european-males-age-25-34/) http://www.coindesk.com/four-types-bitcoin-users/ (http://www.coindesk.com/four-types-bitcoin-users/) This text is not exactly about bitcoin demographic, but it is interesting nonetheless. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-03-10/demographics-bitcoin (http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-03-10/demographics-bitcoin) - this is the most viable source I found up to date. That is what usually peaks someone's interest. The smell of anything to do with money (in this case something that can be converted into it) allures the ones who are trying to get some more because they don't have much of it or they don't have any.Personally I think this will change in the future, as bitcoin gets more and more user friendly. Go to google trends page, enter word bitcoin and see which countries use bitcoin the most and which don't at all etc. Google trends is probably the worst way to estimate that too. A search could have multiple users and a user could search for the same thing over and over and google gives numbers based on the numbers of search and has nothing to do with your IP and It doesn't check a unique search , without forgetting that people could search about bitcoin just because they are curious and not because they are using it too. I've heard of people who make btc online but quite clueless how they do it. Well, I got some starter bits from a relative so might as well just look around how to grow it. Title: Re: typical Bitcoin user Post by: BitcoinPC on December 26, 2016, 06:53:28 AM You are asking us typical question from bitcoin users. I think you know that many person not give you correct information about himself, because it is not necessary, that's why people avoid it. But when it is necessary than definitely everyone give it. But i want to ask you, Why you are asking for us? because you are not explain about anything yourself. First of all, you should explain about yourself, than ask us.

Indeed, that is what i find odd about all those survey people, they immediatly start asking you questions, which firstly i don't want to answer, and secondly they don't even tell who they are, and for what they need it... It's so funny that you are actually expecting serious answers if you are handling this way...Title: Re: typical Bitcoin user Post by: sportis on December 29, 2016, 09:16:24 PM Hello Forum are there studies/surveys about Bitcoin-users? If possible structured in: - age - profession - country Thank you very much! Joe It's so hard to know, not exactly but with many assumptions how many are bitcoin users on a global scale that is impossible to know all these you are asking. If there is ever a researcher could conduct such a survey would probably become rich overnight because there are people and organizations, eg banks, willing to pay a lot of money for a valid and thorough study.
