The question you need to answer is what is your power cost?

If you are 10 cents  a kwatt you may be able to earn some money.

I think ethereum mining still profitable that is why the difficulty is increasing more people are mining ethereum.
But you can try to find a good PoW algo or sha256 that you can mine that i think they are still profit try to mine monero.. or dogecoin..
Those are well known altcoin that i think it can rise up again soon into profitable....

That won't be the end of gpu mining. Coins like monero can take a load when miners transfer. Maybe other coins will appear that will take ethereum's place

For the people in Western Europe, it is dead.

I will say only this

Look at ethereum 1 year ago.

Is the best time for mining Zcash.
Not the best time to sell what you mined.

ive been mining on and off for the last few years
the thing with gpu mining
sometimes you got to take the bad with the good
the key is patience
just when your thinking gpu mining  is dead
something else comes around the corner

+1... That's the reason why I don't sell off my GPU's and continue to buy more when I can. See, if you were wise enough, you could have made some nice earnings with 6 cards rig of RX 480's when ZEC was released. Who knows, maybe some similar situation with some new coin comes tomorrow.

BTW, it's still profitable if you're living at a place where electricity costs less than 15 cents per unit. I'm currently mining with electricity cost of around 14 cents, and I feel that it's very profitable as I'm getting coins + heat, which is a must in winters. I value that heat like of 9 cents worth.

I agree,  I'm paying 14 cents/ kw. For each dollar  wasted on electricity  I'm getting +$1,5 ( 150% profitability) I'm mining ZEC of course

the problem is when speing summer hits those fucks jack up electricty costs on on top of that
you have to find ways to deal with all that generated heat too, winter mining is easy
its spring and summer mining that separates the men from the boys so to speak

For the people in Western Europe, it is dead.

Welcome to Ukraine = we have many _legal_ ways to minimize electricity costs. I pay fix $10\month for ~10Kw\h line - mining will stay profitable even zcash ot eth costs 0.00001 btc

Hello neighbor :)
That is a fixed price for electricity or you still pay per kwh ?

No it isn't. All will depends of your power cost. Someone paying 0,18$+/KWh won't be much profitable, so he will probably stop, but for people getting the kilowatthour at 0,05$ will be very profitable, even for now.

Hello:)

I still pay only $10\month for unlimited 50A line (~10Kw). I dont have an electric meter, so I can't pay +per kwh:)

He said the limit is 10kW.

line capacity is 10Kw. No limit at all, the limit is wire diameter.

so if you change wire to handle 100kw you will still pay 10$ right ?
that sound great
