Title: From Bull to Bear. Sold it all.
Post by: NikolaTesla on April 10, 2013, 04:07:02 PM
Maybe this thread will go down in infamy like all the others and be bumped in a few months maybe not. But it seems like a correction is coming (not necessarily an epic crash, but a correction nonetheless). The media hype has died down, volume is down (even in USD), the price spiked at $266 and I don't think we are going anywhere past that. The millionaires are cashing out (big sells today)... this rocket has reached its apex, now it's time for gravity to kick in. This isn't a bad thing, the price will drop and then stabilize and Bitcoin will finally actually be used for its intended purpose, as a currency at online stores. That will make the Bitcoin protocol as a whole more valuable.

Wow... in the time it took me to write this post, the price has already dropped $10. Glad I cashed out when I did.

Unease of holding Federal Reserve Notes that are backed only by a bunch of bankers?

Nope.

$10 is nothing... It's less than 5% at these prices.

There's still a ton of buy support up past 200. Once the lag clears, think we'll see another breakout.

It is good to take profits on a trade and only have regrets at how much more you "could have made".  If that is your goal (trading).   Personally, if I was trading BTC rather than investing in it, I would not sell until you see some kind of equilibrium on the buying vs. the limited selling.   Day trading is adding a lot to this "volume" so the actual amount of the float that is changing hands is very small.   As a trade, this is going higher.   As an investment this is going up 50 fold.

This is very well timed. I am actually glad to see this speed bump today.

Now, if only my SEPA transfer would clear with Bitstamp... :)

I don't know what will happen with this correction. Will it make a huge crash? One thing is for sure, if it does not and the price resumes back up, only very very very (I mean that) strong hands will be holding bitcoins. So who knows?

I really think the Gox lag is to blame, along with the sudden excitement from last night about hitting $200 causing slight above trend overpricing

I'm going to set a buy order just above $200. There's no way it's breaking back below that right.

The dip is % terms is small

You just made a bad mistake. I hope you still have enough brains to buy back as soon as possible.

BUY IT.  There is no fundamental reason it is going down other that another DDOS.  Use the opportunity to make money just like the people doing the attack are.   Do not be a sucker.

I'd hold off, this is the one I think.
It will go below $190.

This is coming from a pretty strong bull. It got overextended.

187 at btc-e. I'm not being a bear or anything, just stating where it's at. BTCE took a minute to see gox dropping hard.

I don't keep my coins on the exchange and I'm not trying to wait a few confirmations and panic. I'm long. Weather that's good or not on a short term basis.

Regular 20% correction so far. There has been 5 just like this one in the last month. Nothing to talk about yet.

Huge buying opportunity if you could get trades executed.  There is way more to the buy side unfilled and this just shows why we CANNOT only have Gox.  The other exchanges are JOKES, you can see they have no idea what to do.

Great buying opportunity ahead. It would be cool to see it at $150... And.... When we were at $150, like... one week ago? :D

Nothing fundamental has changed.  you can make a lot of money buying (likely what the DDoS people are doing).   btw, does anyone notice how slowly this site is running too right now?

Looks like I was right. $157 and falling fast.

On the bright side, this will be good for the market. People will once again use coins as a currency.

I tip my hat to you OP, seriously good call. Regardless of wherever people think the price will eventually get back above the current point, if the OP has made a tidy profit from this then who are we to say he did anything wrong!

I'm taking the position of the lowest class guy on the Titanic who overslept and realized all the lifeboats had already gone by the time he woke up and with nothing else to do but sit and wait to see what is gonna happen, listening to the string quartet playing Nearer, My God, to Thee as people jump overboard. Easy for me to say since I've only for a few hundred invested  ;D

@OnlyGoodVibes can quite picture this Nearer my God to Thee theme right now and all the screaming and jumping overboard :)))

On a different note... lag seems to be only 5mins and it's stabilizing around 140$?

Yeah, you were right in giving your coins t stronger hands.

Let's see in 2 years from now... Oh, and we're at $190 now. Hoping it's a bull trap to get even cheaper coins.

Don't forget that  2 months ago we were at $20
