Title: 2017 altcoin challenge
Post by: Shiroslullaby on December 23, 2016, 09:30:34 PM
I'm going to start a personal challenge- take a small set amount- say $20 or $50 and invest it in some alt-coins.
Keep track of each trade and any profit or loss, and post it in the thread at the end of each week.
At the end of the year post a total profit or loss.

Would anyone be interested in doing this as a group? Everyone would have to agree on the starting amount and of course, no cheating since its just for fun anyways.

What you're trying to suggest is unclear. We make a post here.
Suppose I have 50$ = 0.05BTC
I invest 0.01BTC in MoneroCoin, 0.02 in DogeCoin, 0.01 in Egaas, 0.01 in any others
I would post all my trades made here.
Suppose the price rose of let's say DogeCoin and LiteCoin and the rest have fallen. I make a post stating my profit and/or loss every week
Wouldn't this be a tedious task?

A quick summary of what you invested in, how much profit/ loss you had shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
Maybe once a week is too often. At the end of every month could be easily doable.

the issue is not with how much time it is going to take us to post it here. any good trader is keeping some kind of log, and even if they are lazy most exchanges keep your logs for you and give you the ability to export it as a .csv file.

the issue is what would we gain from posting our private financial affairs here?!

Like, once the thing was appearing in my mind. But if this like a fucking joke and honestly lock this thread OP and this seem will be a useless thread. We wouldn't gain something, just waste our time for the useless thing.
Correct me if I'm wrong. But totally that's true.

I do think you need t start first and let us see if your decision are consistently right overtime, there is no need to copy sometime that has not proven to be successful

Ok you can start posting and may be other will follow you. But i personally don't like to share my whole financial statement or investment portfolio here and i think most of the people don't like to show how much coin they are holding. Right now i am just looking at KMD invested in them few months ago and i am eagerly waiting to see how much profit/loss i will make when they will get listed in poloniex.

Are you sure of Poloniex listing Komodo? if that is true then I will need to consider to add more to my portfolio before the launch

Too rarely see the poloniex will be adding a new coin and I say never will gonna happen. Are you ever saying the polo has listed a new coin in his exchange? and i will say never.
