At first impression it can look unreal for now, as the price reached to $900 maximum. We didn't reach to $1000 yet, so $1200 can be very hard to achieve for now.

But if we think a bit more, it can be very possible, the prices are going up like a rocket, the events around the world are positive for Bitcoin progress. chineses are pumping BTC now, the relation between chineses and the profitable digital currency must arouse Trump and USA interest, and consequently interest of all the rest of world. 2017 can be very profitable for Bitcoin enthusiasts.

Too early to declare something extravagant just because bitcoin has been pumped to $900. But I won't lie, the increase had been surprising since there would be nothing significant to move the price that high. Anyways, I've already collected some profit when price was crazy at $890-$900. Time to wait for cheap coins hehe.

Price isn't going anywhere yet, the value on preev is moving back and forth $0.40, and that's at $874.XX right now.

Might get a cool rally again sometime soon but it's tapered off for a bit and the value has undergone a correction, so there's nothing to really do right now aside from wait and watch twitter feeds. If anything heats up then we'll have a buy rally, most likely.

Lol, not sure bitcoin rally is related to trump, but anyway it is rallying. From the chart, if it breaks $1000 it should go to the area of $1500 to $1600 range. Hope it will get there in 2017, go bitcoin!

The signs are there for a break out, but I cannot agree that it has anything to do with Trump. I know he has employed a pro Bitcoin advisor

as part of his team, so this is one positive thing to take further into 2017. It would be nice if regulations could be a bit more friendly in all

states, but it is a step in the right direction.  ;D

As I write this, were in the midst of a pullback, which is what I sort of figured would happen.  We shot over $900 so damn fast that people started taking their profit.  Not a dumb thing to do at all, IMO.  Unfortunately I'm not one of those who profited much, as I'm not a big trader.  My total amount of bitcoin that I own is almost exactly 0.1.  Pffft.

I have believe on that with the Christmas and with the happiness of new year the price of bitcoin will increase much high and because of the effects of these two events the price of bitcoin will increase to more than $1000 in the early day of January.

We actually reached $1200 once, in 2013. It was the highest value Bitcoin ever had, but it went down to $1000 very fast. It looks like we're living the same days, and this is all because of halving.. The true effects will be seen starting from the next summer though, trust me! I'm pretty sure the 2012-2013 story will be repeated right now.

Yes however right now there are many more coins than back then, therefore the value is actually right now higher than it was when it reached $1200 (the market cap is higher)

yeah, it is too early to state that. even the price is increasing little by little, but it is still a mistery. no body knows whether the price will reach $1200 sooner or later. but I am not sure if it will be $1200 sooner. just wait for some time more.

And what to do to people for whom bitcoin is the only way to get some money?
I believe that bitcoin will grow higher, but 1200$ sounds as something not real, maybe after the next halving only.

it is possible. bitcoin price movement today is so good. from day to day bitcoin prices rose steadily.

Oh, really? Didn't know about it. If this already happened, the chances to happen again is high. I believe everything will depend the wishes of big whales. If it's interesting for them for any reason to pump the price to $1200-$1300, it will be pumped, even for a fast while.

But, if this really happen I don't think the price will be stable like we are seeing now, if the price increases a lot to this $1200-$1300 goal, it's better to sell BTCs and buy again when it drops to $700-$800.

This time the chart was showing if the pump will happen, and it will go to $1000, this time for optimism. And will be different with 2014, this time the bitcoin goes with more stabilization and can hold his track at the right way for a long time.

Time for selling our bitcoin will be coming.

I sense no signs yet. I dont see any effects on bitcoin price yet. But if its true. Then good job for US president Trump. I expect 2017 will be more good news than bad for bitcoin. We down again to $800+. So i hope it will pump again soon. But the next pump i hope we hit the ATH.

Hitting the ath by the next pumping of price won't happen. This probably reaches $1000, though the price seems to decrease from the peak price of the time towards $800. 2017 might look good with a much increase happening over the mid year if a constant $1000+ price tag holds long.

The pump has certainly stopped but I am still holding my breath that Bitcoin will reach ATH and stay there. But we know that is asking for too much ao I would settle for a new ATH and would accept the possibility that it could crash again at higher lows.

Is there other reason why Trump is attached to bitcoin rise asides the notion of China and Russia seeking for alternative currency to dollar if Trump comes to power.

I haven't used fiat to buy bitcoin yet but I'm certainly holding on to any bits I have now. I'm just hoping there won't be a sudden crash after it breaks its ATH, if that should happen.

BTC will reach at 1100$ in january, 2017. I bought some BTCs for holding.

I was (and still) sure about it that bitcoin will touch $1,000 in the year 2017 but we might see some ups and downs for it but it will touch $1,000 for sure. People are getting aware of this revolutionary technology and the trust is increasing tremendously, so I would advice everyone to hold bitcoins but at the same time spend at least some part of holdings in order to contribute in the growth of bitcoin because movement is growth.

This price will come but not now as per my view right now the Bitcoin price is taking support nearby $870 to $925 range and burst towards any side will give the next bullish or bearish of the market trend and still $1000 sentiment price is not crossed so i think we will see the price of bitcoin $1000+ next year in jan 2017 only not before that.

well if it is really going to happen then it will surely be very great . but for now we should not expect too much but it doesn't mean that I am not aiming for bitcoin price to get higher like that . maybe it is much better to just sit-back and just relax and wait until bitcoin reaches the said price .

stop getting excited because you will end up disappointed in case that price took a long time to reach that $1200 mark you are so excited about.

we are all waiting for it but i have seen many times people wait for a price and since it takes longer than their expectations they dump and then price goes up.

I think we are a long way off 1200. maybe during 2017 but I can't see it jumping quickly that high maybe $1,000 is more likely.

It's very likely we'll break that $1200 and OP's prediction comes true, but I really doubt it has something to do with Trump. The market in the US is not the biggest one and it doesn't matter who sits in the Oval Office. Sure it can influence the price, but Trump hasn't established any Bitcoin laws yet.

In my opinion this is too optimistic view. Such statement will be better to place on some other place then Bitocintalk, we do not need to advertise Bitcoin and push price up  ;).
But I agree it will be good to reach $1200.

I wish bitcoin hit 1200$ soon but I think it's not so easy to reach on 1200$.Bitcoins price is in ups and downs for couple of days.Today it was 874.XX But now it is on 904.XX$.So,bitcoin price prediction is so tough.But I think it's possible to hit 1200$.may be in the very next year?

We look that price rise up in three days by some factors and transactions but that don't means that now it's time to hold bitcoins and wait until it will reach 1200$. Many people was saying that after halving price would be doubled but that wouldn't happen and many peoples' hope failed so don't look this fact like fanatic and don't let it so fail your dreams but I think now is good time to sell some, fot example 25% of your total bitcoins.

Price of bitcoin was proven increased more than 100% in this year, and what will happen in the next year.
Don't sell any coin that you have and see what we get in the end of 2017.

I agree there is no way we are at the top of this bull run,  but even these prices in 2 years will seem like a bargain.  anyone reading this and not owning a small amount of bitcoin will be kicking themselves in a few years. 

In fact after trump elected, the price jump little bit, but with recent price grow up the affect of trump not patch.

It is obvious that they are ditching dollar. But do you think that they switch to Bitcoin? Because this is highly unlikely scenario.
Any info about country buying BTC on a massive scale would rise bitcoin price tenfold.

After trump's presidential victory over Clinton, common men  and bitcoin users believe that he supports bitcoin much. Reason is due to the members of his different teams having bitcoin enthusiasts and developers who are into bitcoin from its start.

I don't expect another BTC bull run soon, I expect the market to respect the current $900 range but Trump will be sworn-in in January and any of his action can spur the market and favour another BTC price run

It is impossible that the price can be touch 1.2k value right now or this week. but maybe it can be touch this coming 2017 but it takes too long my prediction is nearly march or may that the price will touch in that value..

Don't know about Trump the moron! But keeping my fingers crossed for bitcoin rally. I too hope that bitcoin will reach to a new height within a short period of time. Probably within a month.

I have been storing bitcoin with this hope that I will be able to buy something very expensive for myself with my bitcoin holdings. I hope that day will come in 2017 only.

If you use Bitcoin as a pump and dump coin you can be burned. Bitcoin is far more than a price on a Exchange. Bitcoin is an technology and not a get rich quick scheme. Speculating about a price is a dumb idea.

When you will finelly understand that bitcoin doesn't depend from Trump or Chinese people. Well, I really believe that one day bitcoin will hit the price of 1200$. But who knows when it's going to happen? Now I'm waiting to bitcoin fall to buy some ;)  

Totally agree that bitcoin is not a pump and dump coin. Also I fully agree it's a new technology for raising money where only you are in full control (at least that's the core philosophy in bitcoin in my view). Speculating about price is not a good idea, but conserving your coins and buying them now it maybe the wise choice that we made in our lives a few years later. This is also a big power of bitcoin.

I'm probably just as happy as others with the current rally but I know I am not alone in hoping that it steadies at this level for a few more months to allow some of us to acquire a few fractions of btc.

Besides, holding longer now will boost chances for higher climbs next year=)

I and many other investors are hoping for a big positive change to be seen next year. Such effects took place three years ago because of halving.. Halving took place again this year and the following one should be a history change, again! Except this we've got Obama and Trump, and nobody knows what's going to happen soon. With each terrorist attack we're looking at higher and higher prices, and I cannot see them stopping anytime soon!

I think is great to see it like you are your own bank and that nobody can't charge a fee to have it into your wallet. Also, I am grateful that we have this opportunity in our lifetime to have an asset that rises in value and that nobody controls centrally. If the price goes up or down, I will continue to use bitcoin for the increasing purchasing power over time instead of the inflation with fiat.

But I can't understand this excessive optimism. If you don't have 100 btcs or more in your wallet this rally is not necessarily a good deal for most bitcoiners.

A bitcoin price around $1,500 or $2,000 would mean two important things:

a) the possibility of getting one bitcoin will be harder every day for newcomers. A very expensive price would discourage many people from buying some coins.

b) a sudden increase to those high levels would mean that the bitcoin price is still in the hands of speculators, and this high volatility will remain as an important handicap against a massive adoption.

We're nowhere close to hitting something like $1.2k, right now we're seeing some nice values that are sitting around $900, but for now, there are a lot of walls that have to be broken before we can even look at the $1k wall, let alone $1.2k.

There are a lot of mental barriers for the market, and nothing is a decent guarantee. We still have yet to see where it all goes, and right now the charts and history behind the value aren't extremely convincing.

i know thats why im holding my bitcoin and im waiting till it reach $1200 but im expecting that if bitcoin hit the price oof $1000 that will be the end of its shooting up because there will be a lot of users that will cashout their bitcoin into fiat thats what im afraid of because i know that will be the reason of bitcoin dropping back down.

would you buy BTC at this price? two weeks ago i thought it was nuts but now everything seems different.

you are right, it seems really impossible for bitcoin to $1200 within this week but I don't think that it would took that long maybe if the price has reached $1000 price value before the year ends it could be possible that in the near end of the month February 2017 bitcoin will reach almost or exact $1200 . but we should not very complacent and expect too much .
