Title: Need help! My BTC-E Account was Hacked tonight! Be careful!
Post by: libertysilver on April 11, 2013, 04:22:46 AM
The past few days I have had a lot of trouble logging in.
Tonight I was banned from the chat room(which I haven't even used in over a week)
Then when I changed my password and logged in Coins had been sold and WITHDRAWN
from the account.

I have the addresses they went to.

Not sure what to do-  I sent a support ticket but have not heard back.

If you are having trouble logging in there, watch out.

Anyone who has a suggestion -- or knows how to track down the addresses I would really appreciate your help

This just happened to me as well... Its nothing we did and is fully the fault of security at BTC-E... I had a lot of money in there and will not let this one slide. I will be doing everything I can to get my money back.

BTC-E told a couple people it was an error on their side and they are fixing it. We shall see.

"An error has caused us to accidentally withdraw coins from our users"

versus

"We accidentally ran the 'steal funds and blame it on a hack' script too many times"

Deal with BTC-e at your own risk, with what has happened after the NovaCoin scam.

Why the fuck doesn't BTC-E use 2FA?
No one has ever attempted to explain this despite the fact I have asked numerous times on numerous channels.

They have the option for withdrawals. Edit Profile -> Security -> Withdraw only on E-Mail

Also, who keeps btc on an exchange?  Don't do that.
