What is Extreme?
Extreme is a new chain created to test Moonstones future features just like a testnet. However it will be treated like a main net on its own.

How many tokens are on the genesis block?
There are 330M XTR tokens and 300M of it will be distributed for free until the end of January, 2017. All undistributed tokens will be given to the Moonstone crowdsale participants using the same ratio they get for Moonstone tokens (Moonstone's crowdsale will end on bitcoin block height 447,000).

How can I get Extreme's XTR tokens?
Just create an account here: http://extreme.moonstonedac.com/ and make sure you don't forget your password and make a backup. Then pm me your account name and you will get XTR tokens depending on your rank based on the table below:

Jr Member: 50,000 XTR
Member: 100,000 XTR
Full Member: 200,000 XTR
Sr. Member: 250,000 XTR
Hero Member: 280,000 XTR
Legendary: 300,000 XTR

What can I do with XTR tokens?
Extreme has a built in decentralized exchange and market-pegged assets.
There is a market-pegged bitcoin token and a market for it.
You can use your XTR tokens to buy BTC.
You can also use your XTR tokens as collateral to borrow BTC.
Your XTR tokens is also equivalent to your voting power to vote who will become delegates to secure the Extreme network.
Your XTR tokens is also equivalent to your voting power to vote who will become committee members to decide system parameters like block times and block rewards.
Your XTR tokens is also equivalent to your voting power to vote who will become workers to do work for the Extreme network.

1 second blocks! So cool I don't think any crypto has this speed.

Will you have instructions on how to build a node so that we can be witnesses too? I guess its similar to the other instructions. I will setup my wallet now and pm you.

It's the same instructions as Moonstone's. Yeah I called it Extreme because they say it's so unstable when you bring it down to 1 second. But tendermint did it. I just reduced the block size and we'll see from there.

I have problem to get access the website it stuck on loading screen from a long time. So many refresh but nothing happening on my side.

no problem here. others can create accounts. so maybe from your side there's something wrong. can you try a restart with your computer and/or broadband?

maybe that was the problem of poor network connection, the same thing with openleadger. when the bad network server will certainly continue loading

yes, if you setup a node and create a witness and you get enough votes to rank in the top 101.

after price discovery, i might buy some bitcoins with real bitcoins. the "settle" action will convert your BTC to XTR at the settlement price.

Apart from being free what does this bring ? You say a decentralized exchange that is built into the cilent... does that mean you will be running your own exchange dedicated only to XTR and hoping other people use it ? Why when you can trust an Exchange with a Reputation, "I'm not talking about the smaller ones" but they would seem to have a better rep then a new coin with one built in...

i saw in the DEX that the lowest seller is selling at a price of about 2,000,000 XTR per BTC.
this means anyone can borrow 0.01 BTC by putting up about 53,000 XTR as collateral.
as more and more people will borrow BTC, more and more BTC will be circulating in the Extreme ecosystem.

but you can always ask someone with BTC in their account to trade for your real BTC.

I have lack information about XTR. I asked "how do we make a withdrawal BTC of XTR account, because I do not see access to it , just buying and selling or send XTR.

there are no gateways yet. so what you hold are BTC backed up by XTR as collateral. i'm hoping people with real btc will buy extreme btc assets later. i for one will.

When coin to be in the exchange? Anybody know?

I have to finish the distribution first before I'll figure out to get this to an exchange. Maybe all the XTR holders later can make a simultaneous request to Polo to be listed. I don't think an exchange would be interested right now since I still hold the majority of the coins.

To all XTR holders, if you somehow get to collect 1 BTC or more here, I'll buy it for real BTC. I have to do this to stimulate trading.

There is a market-pegged asset inside the Extreme blockchain named BTC. Anyone holding 1 BTC or more of it can exchange it with me for real BTC.
These assets are market-pegged. For it to exist, someone must be willing to back it up with XTR as collateral. So all BTC inside Extreme are backed up by XTR.

If you hold XTR, you can create BTC by locking up your XTR as collateral.
The BTC you create will be yours. But your XTR will be locked up until you decide to destroy the BTC.

Withdraw only to name not to adres.

I have a node running. What do I need to do to set up up to be a witness and mine?

I have a buy order at 50M XTR per BTC and a sell order at 90M XTR per BTC.
As the distribution goes on, all my XTR will be gone and I won't be able to borrow BTC anymore and I can't also put substantial buy orders.
By then, the true price discovery will begin.

If you think 50M per BTC is cheap, you can always buy higher.
If you think 90M per BTC is expensive, you can always use your XTR to borrow BTC and sell cheaper.

Just make sure when you borrow BTC, you have enough collateral so that you will not get margin called.

I have vm on this system but I have too many things running to also keep vm running constantly need the resources for other stuff

I currently run both on the same dedicated VPS. Works well, with one exception - by some reason my Moonstone witness stopped few hours ago (first time in last month). Not sure what is the reason, maybe a resource issue. But apparently those daemons do not conflict.

BTW, do NOT use "0.0.0.0:21001"! Its dangerous as you open it to the whole world. Use "127.0.0.1:21001" instead, as is specified in Moonstone tutorial.

A question: do we really need to specify this chain-id when running the wallet? I have run it without chain-id (using just different port to connect) and it worked well. Whats the benefit of specifying chain-id?

You can. Could take a time to compile though. Plus it will stress your SD card. Look in the Moonstone forum, there is a guy who compiled Moonstone DAC code for Raspberri and run successfully (https://moonstonedac.com/threads/running-node-on-raspberry-pi.9/). The same could be done for Extreme, but be sure the stress to your device will be more "Extreme" too ;D. I am sure it will work well (to some extend), especially now, at the beginning of the blockchain.

i haven't even finished distribution yet. there's a built in decentralized exchange but nobody's trading for now. later, when the distribution is done let's worry about how to get it listed to some centralized exchange.

What is Extreme?
Extreme is a new chain created to test Moonstones future features just like a testnet. However it will be treated like a main net on its own.


So this is just a testnet and you have no real plans for this chain?  I'm running a witness node right now but wondering what the future holds.

That depends on how we look at it. This one is a main chain with a fair distribution.
So whether you look at it as a test net or not, after the distribution, I will lose my voting power to the community. Everyone decides who will become witnesses and committee members. What I meant by the answer above is that Extreme will have the changes first before it will be implemented in Moonstone. In that sense, it is Moonstone's testnet or laboratory. But on its own, it's a main net.

this is the second time there's a problem with restoring from the brain key. i'm taking note of it. can you restore from backup? or from private key?
for now just don't use the brain wallet restore.

I used Palemoon for the wallet and when I click "download" for the bin file it does not work.
So I used the "brain key".
Anyway I was able to make a backup using private key, restore it using a different browser and save the bin file.

1 sec blocks are bit too fast, if we have a slow machine or slow internet connect, it will have problems to sync with the network. Why we use so fast blocktime? To be used in the real life transactions?

committee members can vote to change the block times without the need of a hard fork. XTR holders can vote for committee members. the 1 second block is the minimum so we start at the minimum. after distribution, everyone can decide what the block interval will be. but at least now we know 1 second blocks can be done.

Something is wrong.  All of the witness nodes that you have voted for are offline.    I resynced mine but when I restart I just just keep getting the following error:.

Sure, it is easily reproducible here. Now it shows "Next vote update   18 minutes ago". I refreshed with F5 and Ctrl+F5 - still shows the same.
Its the same with both Moonstone and Extreme.

For what I can remember XTR are testnet coins for the mainnet (Moonstones) so they probably won't ever be on an exchange. It would be like Kraken or Bitstamp or any other exchange to open trading between testnet bitcoins and € or $.
