Title: The future looks fantastic, kids love Bitcoin
Post by: calkob on December 29, 2016, 04:58:45 PM
My kids love bitcoin, they have had wallets for 3 years and have introduced the friends to the concept. They are all swapping bitcoin and exchanging things for it.  It reminds me of the ted talk by andreas which i have posted below. " try explaining KYC to these kids when their 18", lol  ;D

Edit: watch about 17:00 for exact quote.

This is interesting to hear. How old are your kids? How are they acquiring their bitcoin? Do you live in an area with many shops/stores accepting bitcoin?

I'm curious what kids are finding as the fascinating thing about it (not surprised, but interested in zeroing in a bit) and how they percieve the use of bitcoin. You mention "trading" - with kids this could be like trading baseball cards, something heavily driven by fad rather than an indicator of genuine adoption and growth.

In the end, hearing that younger folks are enthusiastic about bitcoin is a great sign for the growth of "the project".

Yeah, kids have a pretty good natural feeling about which things are good and which ones are useless. They are not yet indoctrinated by the state, that's why they don't understand how anyone in its right mind would think that KYC / AML are beneficial.

What your kids are doing is natural business activity. It's engaging in a free market as it should be. It's a source of creativity and joy. That's Bitcoin. :)

ya.ya.yo!

This is actually a really good post in my opinion, although that doesn't matter much. But the comment specifically on the indoctrination of the state is actually a pretty good point you make, and I have to say it's definitely one of your better points. The choices of the kids doesn't necessarily represent the free market and how it engages, since they don't need to immediately provide for themselves, but it does go to show how marketing and complexity can interest kids.

Don't let them find out about gambling  >:(

I found out about bitcoin since I was 13 and it's the main thing I use/involve myself with online now but I discovered gambling a few months into my 'journey' and now I've lost too much to talk about lol

But yeah it's cool to see other kids getting into btc. Kids just need smoenoe to tell them about it otherwise HEY won't find out  :D

Its really hard to avoid them on gambling because we all know that bitcoin is commonly used on that industry and if they know enough bitcoin then they will surely encounter its uses and benefits then they will find out that bitcoin is being used on many things. The real thing here is on how you discipline your child on how to avoid those such things.

You could discipline them for their whole life but if they try it even once for fun, there's a good chance they'll get hooked. But yeah teaching them to avoid it would be better.

You have a point and there would be still chances that they might get hooked into gambling because we all know playing it for the very first time is enjoyable and if they already know that bitcoin could be used to play those games then they will eventually try.Its not really bad at all but we should not tolerate them to do so because if they would play excessively then negative results will come next.Proper explanation to them about negative effects of gambling would help.

That is a fantastic idea teaching your kids as early as 13 earn bitcoins and exposed to cryptocurrency. But of course you will need to guide them in their bitcoin journey since gambling sites and porn sites are accepting bitcoins, your kids may access them and get addicted into it. Parental guidance is necessary never allow them to use bitcoin without your presence. Its good to teach kids how to earn but without placing their morals in jeopardy.

this is one of the problems that will always exist when you combine kids and bitcoin. the anonymity and the ease of use is allowing them to do many things that can even be worse than gambling, what if they start paying for some illegal stuff online with bitcoin!

Kids and teenagers can easily understand bitcoin, but older people just can`t.

This is good for the bitcoin future. We need more adolescents to adopt and use bitcoin.

but they fear that they will lose their money if stored there, due to price fluctuation and all the hacking attempt that occured

This is a good thing and lucky you that introduced your kids to bitcoin years ago.
I can conclude that your kids know many things about bitcoin and can troubleshoot with transaction/wallet issues because of the 3 year experience.

Kids are accepting new things much faster then adults. Knowledge about Bitcoin is good but they are not so experienced and rstional as adults so they have to be warned about danger too. Kids and teenagers are getting new infomations very quick and often parents can't control them anymore and they could get stuck on bad places like dark markets and similar.

Yeah, indeed we must be more correct in introducing bitcoin to kids. For as we now know it, many things can be obtained illegally or done in the bitcoin. And it could give a fairly risky effects for those who haven't been able to do something well, let alone the kids sometimes have the urge to want to know something new or not yet they know. So, if there are kids who already know better their escorting bitcoin compared to later get a problem

That's good for you I just envy you for having kids. Since I am not that married yet, I will try to cover up that with my future kids.

But it seems that everything that was being told in ted talk by Andreas are reality and it is now going to happen.

He has the point that kids aren't allowed to use credit cards so they will try to use some other alternatives and bitcoin is the solution.

I agree. Kids love to learn new things in this world so that they can easily adapt to changes. Bitcoin is a new technology which is very interesting and useful. Many people are attracted by Bitcoin so there are not any reason for kids to hate it. Looking forward to seeing the future when your kids grow up, it will be very very awesome

yeha, indeed bitcoin is a new technology and certainly a lot of the kids who received the new thing let alone could give an advantage to them. But from behind the positive facet, kids have to cope with life in a future world that is even worse. Where I see that all the things confidential could be purchased through technology that is not held by the Government and it could complicate by unpacking these things because it would be difficult to police investigating the case. One thing that must be done is to give the right thoughts and never saw something that invites curiosity in the Dark world

Indeed maybe they are even more knowledgeable than the one you qouted lol.  Unlike kids and teenagers, adults are more knowledgeable in economics, so they tend to balance things and its effect to their family. With these, fears and uncertainty of losing is what in their mind that kids and teenagers are lacking.  It is something like "oh its shingy" thing for kids and teenagers and hop on the train.  But it is different with older people.

This is good for the bitcoin future. We need more adolescents to adopt and use bitcoin.

though I am not against this but I wonder what would adolescents bring to the economy of Bitcoin?

these kids are loving bitcoin now and with proper education and guidance they can grow up to be pioneers in crypto currency world.

There are some kids that loves being geek or discovering different new things that you may see on the internet. Bitcoin is one of the greatest invention that ever made in the history in the internet, IMO. Kids these days are very close in internet world since there is a lot of gadgets that they can use and that is one of the factor while kids are getting into technologies or being in loved with bitcoin. Kids can also earn bitcoin by just playing some games that pays few satoshi and more like a faucet but that is still alright even if that is only a faucet because being a kid doesn't mean that you need money because kids need more time in being happy rather than stressing their self to earn money.

In the future, the present generation kids make history with the revolutionary digitalization in all sectors. One such example is the YouTube link. These days kids are not considered as kids and were taught to earn which makes them loss humanity at some situations and gets addicted to technology. So in my view everything needs to be taught on their own interest, should never be insisted to learn though one knows that the kid doesn't like it.

It is a good thing that you taught your kid early for bitcoin, in the future bitcoin will become very valuable and most of the payment concept will be in digital form, and by introducing bitcoin to children we will have the generation that will continue bitcoin legacy, who knows one day your kids could make a good development for bitcoin

Everyday world is moving to digitalization, at this situation bitcoin has the great opportunity and potential become a digital gold and best stock of  the world with its potential. So if kids or anyone learn about bitcoin means sure it will be helpful for them. I think here the forum members will teach about bitcoin to youngsters or to family members.

It's good to teach kids at a young age so when they grow up they have more interest with bitcoin, as of this time, bitcoin is still at the young age and we can surely see more growth or success in the future. Getting your kids involve to your passion, would help as when he matures, he can share ideas and the sayings can be applied that two heads are better than one.

It really seems like parts of the new generation grow up using bitcoin, and that is a very promising developement!

to me i think bitcoin should not be introduce to children. because bitcoin is not still using as currency most of the people are using it as investment and children should only give preference to their their study and when they complete their study then they should take part in trading.

Bitcoin is the new face of being digital and am sure that since kids these days are so technology inclined then they would really love the concept behind Bitcoin. This is the future and kids would love to embrace it. It would really be interesting if parents who are into Bitcoins or cryptocurrency will also include their kids and teach them on the many benefits that one can have using Bitcoin.

It is wonderful that your children love bitcoin, although it is a shame that this reality is still very distant for most children (and adults) in the world. But I hope that in a very short time we will be able to see many children familiar with the use of cryptos and with sufficient access to the technologies that allow them to join these amazing world.

We try to talk about Bitcoin with kids but IT'S ALWAYS LIKE FIAT MONEY, you have to grow your money 1) honestly, 2) little by little, 3) without risky too much, 4) don't waste with any kinda distraction or illusionarie things, 4) try to study it more and more to know more about the world behind the very first page. Kids are awesome, my kid has ~1BTC that he cares with caution and it was solding some garbage that was in his bedroom :D

I really did not understand what you were explaining here, like to know the age of your kid so that he could understand about bitcoin in the first place and what is he going to do with the coin which is stored in some wallet and more over what does he understand about an virtual object as your comments really makes me wonder and laugh  ;D. The future might change and with time fiat will be replaced by digital economy but for the complete transformation it would take a really really long time.

Yeah, really.  Keep those kids far, FAR away from the dice sites.

Even if they have nowhere to spend bitcoin, it's fun to own and play around with.  I don't spend it, and I have a ball.  It's like owning a stock or whatever.  Didn't watch the video (I'm at work), but good for them.

That is new concept from children because They are living in the digital world and they are also using smart devices so that They can see all benefits from digital currency such as bitcoin and altcoins. You must teach them how to explain bitcoin to all their friends in the simple way.

this is always good to hear that kids and all different types of people are talking about bitcoin and liking it. but nothing will happen this way.
the thing that can really affect the dynamics of things, meaning increase the adoption and make bitcoin be accepted everywhere as a currency is only if big merchants and shops start accepting bitcoin so that bitcoin can get some widespread attention and be exposed to great number of people.

The whole world is moving toward the digitalization, everyday people really on internet in their everyday lives, they shop they work and especially they pay through the internet, and bitcoin is the best way to adapt to this world, and many kids are using electric devices from the early ages, so introducing them to bitcoin early really helps them adopt to the world.

It's very simple to introduce Bitcoin to kids. There are many simple games for both Android and iOS that offer you Bitcoin for playing. There is one like Flappy Bird which is multiplayer only and pays you some satoshis for winning on the first place. After they earn enough, you can create their wallet and show them how Bitcoin works.

If a kid has an interest with gambling, at the very most you should have them play some very basic games on their phone or whatever that simulate the same concept, but remind them that isn't how it works in the real world. Keep them away from it as much as you can, but let them see how frustrating it is when they get a bit older.

Honestly my oldest child also gamble with bitcoin but i just let him play for faucet and maybe he can win a large amount but for depositing i'll not teaching him to know how to transfer because maybe in the future he will touch my bitcoins in my wallet and transfer in gambling site and play.. i just always changing my password just to don't let them know about my password.
Kids can be provably interested in bitcoin gambling because the game is just like a game in facebook like poker that actually they also playing in facebook.. so if you have kids that knows how to computer and play pokers or any gambling games online better to don't let him know the gambling site where you are gamble..

That is why in any activities online aside from just bitcoin parental guidance is needed. Let us not allow our kids explore the net without our presence they may open many sites that are no child friendly. With regards to bitcoin let us make their experience in earning bitcoins more unforgettable when we are beside them. Bitcoin time is family bonding time, parental guidance must be there always so they will earn how to earn but not to gamble and watch porn sites.

That's really great to see that you as a parent have taken a right step in the direction and introduced your kids to Bitcoin and that's good financial education for them. I am sure they will be super rich if they hold on the coin and the value keeps on rising. I think most of the parents often miss out on this very important part and they leave it for to late. I really understand that kids today are the citizens of tomorrow; but I find extremely difficult to explain the bitcoin processes in a kid. Even with fiat money is really difficult to explain how it works. So imagine how to describe that bitcoin is a piece of code and this is money. I initially prefer speak to them about fiat, after about credit/debit cards and about 16+ when they are in High school about bitcoin where they have learned some things from IT and Economics lessons

obviously it is not even a good idea to talk about bitcoin with kids of low ages such as in elementary! i think when most people here say kids they mean 16+ and that is understandable because they are mostly understanding newer technologies and won't find it strange and can easily understand how bitcoin works compared to a 60 year old

I dont see any reason why we can't teach them about bitcoin before then. Forget fiat. Fiat is rubbish. Children already know at like age 8 that money is used to trade for different things and is made so we dont have to jpkeeo s huge inventory fpr every possible trade because money can be used to trade for whatever you wish. Bitcoin is not difficult to understand and I think it would be easier to teach children st a young age since the surrounded by new technology anyway. It is not so new compared to a kid in this generation.

Nice video.Although I don't get the culture of teaching kids to deal with stuff, this is something you could brainwash them with. Before they become the slaves of corporatocracy and have their lives owing to the Banks, they should know of the alternatives they can get accustomed with.I just hope by the time they turn 18,bitcoins is not owned by governments.

What human values? War?

Because a digital world at least will stop war, or at least will send it to a digital form in the form of cyber warfare, which is still better than physical war.

It will be a less violent world that is for sure.
