I also read up topics about bitcoins from the internet too.

How did you get to know bitcoin?

I used to work in freelancer one of client asked me that he is going to pay me in the form bitcoin, firstly i don't know what is bitcoin and what is price of bitcoin. Than i started researching about bitcoin i found many articles in online regarding bitcoin.

Heard about BTC from a friend. He was so into Bitcoins, he talked about them non stop. Eventually i wanted to learn about Bitcoins also. Here i am now.

From internet marketing forum, after that i find more information about bitcoin.
About 2 years ago.

My friend said there was a way to earn money online. I decided to search more about it and found bitcoin.
At first I wasn't really interested and faucets weren't much profitable, but then I found out there was many other ways of getting some bitcoins.

I was told that there were a lot of possibilities to earn money online and since I don't like modern slavery era also known as capitalism I started searching. I bumped onto bitcoin this way.

I for example always looked for how to make money on the Internet and often come across bitcoin, but never took notice and did not even take it seriously. But I saw the prospects only now.

I heard about it in 2012, but wasn’t really struck by it. It wasn’t until 2013 when a wizard invited me to join him and learn about Magic Internet Money. (NOTE: That’s not the actual thread in which I started, but I did get my start on Reddit.) I began buying small amounts and playing around with it. I then got hooked and began mining at a loss, trying out storage techniques, trying new services, checking out new gadgets, and it snoballed from there.

I first heard about bitcoin on an episode of Criminal Minds, and then one day when I was on youtube I stumbled across some bitcoin mining vids.  Did some more research and learnt a lot.  Then discovered this forum and learnt quite a great deal more.

I got to know bitcoing when I was looking for a gpu a few years ago.

From golgpoll website when I was into hype. From there I began to Google it and there see myself on this site. I am happy to come in contact with this site and bitcoin for great investment opportunities and financial uplift I got from bitcoin.

I just learned that because of my friend and I told him I had to do it so I told you I was interested in the bitcoin that I was looking for but I'm a bit new but I still have a little bit learnings on the bitcoin.

I get to know about bitcoins from my children, they are always  discuss about bitcoins, so i become interested about it, they explain to me how to earn bitcoins, they are always looking at the graph about the increase and discrease of bitcoins price. So I ask them if i can join and they answer yes why not. So one of my son teach me how to make the account.

I know bitcoins personally from family and friends.
I have seen their success in bitcoins and got interests on it.
Hoping one day i will make it too

The first time i heard about bitcoin was few months ago, on TV shows, they said that bitcoin has crossed 6000 in few months, at that time i really to earn money to buy some bitcoin.

I have heard some people talk about bitcoin years ago. But I only took the time to learn it when a close friend of mine told me about it. That was the only time when I decided to try it.

I first heard about bitcoin in a movie titled "Dope", Then I have made several google searches which then led me to this community.

I first read an article about Bitcoin on Facebook last May 2017 and then some of my friends were sending me PM's about cloud mining site.I invested in cloud mining sites and sadly they all scammed me and burned my usd 2k. Then I started researching about cryptocurrency and blockchain.Then I found a crypto mining site and invested also, luckily I earned a very good returns so I decided to keep investing on crypto mining.

It all started from my colleague who have first mentioned about cryptos way back year 2015. At first, I am not even interested. I just nod at whatever he was talking about. But the moment I saw the profit that he is earning, it somewhat rang a bell in my head. Since Bitcoin is the topmost crypto even before, it became the center of my interest. The source of income before is through crypto investment and also, bounty campaigns. You are free to invest at this moment and to join from different campaigns but it is just that the market is on downfall and it negatively influenced the market itself. Many people are disappointed not only in Bitcoin but to all cryptos introduced in the industry. Some people left and have engaged themselves into othet things or activities in which for them, would be profitable at this moment.

I do bet that this is a common experience,; being referred by a friend, school mate,etc.

Some of those people have focused with their previous jobs and some of them have engaged into online  gambling (https://to.crwd.cr/smtm) since most of the gambling sites are now blockchain based and it gave them an idea to use their investments in crypto to earn profit than to just wait patiently until the market starts to recover, which seems to be impossible at this point. We do all have our own choices and although it does seem to be foolish in the eyes of other investors who have chose to just wait for recovery, those who engage into gambling cannot be blame because they have their reasons with them.

I did know bitcoin in some money making forums way back 2012 - 2013, sad thing I never get involve with bitcoin in those years I just got involve after the ath of bitcoin which makes the bitcoin spreaded all over the newsfeed.

I used to get to know bitcoin in my own curiousity because once i saw my friend having an extra money through his smartphone that starts for me to get curious about this cryptocurrency bitcoin. And i start to have researvh about bitcoin on how to get it and how i can also earn money from it using only my smartphone. Ah! I remember first time I visited darknet I saw many websites selling illegal stuff there (such as guns and drugs) and they only way yo could pay them was bitcoinBTC. So I started digging about it and Also remember the bitcoin application for windows was the only way to mine bitcoins and it was much more faster than these days.
Unfortunately I didn't take care about this project and now I feel regret about it.

I got stucked into btc through a ponzi like platform that operates with btc.
My mentality about btc then was that it was only meant for ponzi schemes, not until i got into steemit and knew more about blockchain technologu, it was really worth the stress anyways.

Too many news stories. Man loses his Bitcoins, Bitcoin price has reached an all time high, Hackers steal a million dollars worth of Bitcoin, etc

I wonder how those two topics are connected.
Bitcoin has brought a lot of malicious people on the internet where they try to scam others and steal their money. On the other side, it has been safer due to the fact that can make transactions without any fear of loosing your money.

I agree with you I also got to know through my friend and after watching some videos on the internet I learned about Bitcoin. Then  using my own talent and observing different places I learned about its mediums.

Im first heard about bitcoin in youtube firstly im not interested about it.Then some of my friends discuss about it and they explained to me about Bitcoin.

I get to know about bitcoin from my girlfriend, she herself have worked with team on many projects, we stated dating this year and she decide to show me the way so that I will never get broke again.

You have a good girlfriend that willing to give you opportunity to earn in her ways,better keep her as an asset because there are few Woman whos involving in this market.
If you will only rely on your own discovery at first surely you will hesitate to believe in Bitcoin because this can be looking scammy.
