Title: Conspiracy Theory: MtGox will not return
Post by: BIGMERVE on April 11, 2013, 03:46:15 PM
The employees at Mt.Gox know the site will be shut down. They created the anouncement that they are going down temporarily so they have time to cash out from different exchanges. Once everyone realizes Mt.Gox is not coming back the price will plummet.

Just a theory, who knows?

They are a registered business. They can in theory run away with your money, but so could your local bank branch manager. So next time you see a "closed for the weekend" sign on your bank, do panic :)

I wonder how Japans laws see virtual currencies. If they returned the dollars they are holding but kept all the BTC would they be accountable under Japans laws or is stealing virtual monopoly money the same thing as stealing air under their laws?

That's not a bad thing, assuming people get there money back.
