Title: Expanse total supply could be reduced to 1/3?

"Expanse was created with a community DAO fund to pay for development and expenses of the project for many years. The amount of 10 million was chosen to provide a long-term solution."

"I propose we switch from a reserve system to a monthly revenue stream using a percentage of the dPoS Validators and remove the 10 million EXP fund entirely."

"Psychologically, people price Expanse and include the 10 million in their calculations, they even calculate the EXP that won't be used for many years. I also believe this would be very likely to increase the price as there would be vastly less overall EXP existing."

"but also greatly reducing the total supply to less than 5 million total EXP."

Current:
Available Supply=4,833,889 EXP
Total Supply=15,002,939
Market Cap=$924,713
Current Price per= .19 cents

Seems like there is huge potential in big gains with current limited supply and minimal market cap and the chance for the elimination of the Expanse team owning majority share as well as the total supply being reduced by 2/3.

I am not overly invested in EXP (have a very small amount) or do I know a ton about it other than what I have recently read and wonder what others opinions are on EXP as an investment.  Should I put real money into it?

Could we see a 10x - 50x increase at some point in the future?

It's possible price favors those who has limited supply so we can say that it will be one of the factor but if course development of the coin and how the community supports it's advancements is still a crucial factor

there is a same news regarding etheruem the total supply will be decreased to 1.5 instead of 5, so expanse dev also think that miner are dumping a big amount of coin, and should make them have less impact on the market, i agree with this, miner are producing too many block per day in these dagger coin, because the block time is very fast only 15 or 20 seconds.

Doesn't this also give more confidence to investors with the team not owning majority share?

That was my impression. Reduced coin supply is great for investors but, more importantly, I think investors were scared to invest in a coin that the majority was held by Expanse team. So if I am understanding right this is great news from multiple standpoints.

Do you know if expanse follows bitcoin price increase/decrease? Sorry, new to this. Maybe watching too closely.

Seems like they have a lot going on and good news on the horizon so I'll just sit back and be patient I think.

Guys, do you think it makes sense to buy Expanse for the long term? Or are there other more lucrative variants. I waited on the previous growth of more than 42k.  :-[

With the recently issued bond system already out, the switch to from PoW to PoS, the upcoming DAO release (Q2/2017), *and* the reduction of coin supply (due to bonds), it seems like a perfect storm for explosive growth. (source: Expanse slack)

Looking at the chart, it appears to have bottomed out a few months ago and is on a growth trajectory.

Expanse will switch from PoW to PoS ? This kills any interest in the coin as there is no stable, reliable and interesting PoS coin.
