The chance is pretty big in the next 24 hours to reach $1000, what a surprise, it's startled me.
But the fluctuations seems normal right? Increase-decrease within $10-80 a day.
I'm wondering what will we get in the end of the year, I bet for $2000 obviously.

$1000 secured. Now we can actually start talking about btc's next big bull run/bull mkt as it prepares to push past previous ath. After that debating if it's possible for it to hot 2k will seem silly. People were estimating 10k-20k last run, those predictions and higher are going to come back. Segwit and preliminary lightning integration are very close as well.

This is a wonderful start for the new year. It has touched 1000$ at Kraken and we can hope that it won't stop there.

Waiting for a "xxx got hacked" news... Just like every time things go well, mysteriously some bitcoin exchange platform gets "hacked".

I really hope that nothing happens this time around for real and the price is really soaring and it might break the $1000 this time around and if it does break i do really hope there is a really good rally in terms of the price and it could break the earlier record with this run and most of them are predicting  a price over $2000 this year around and hope the rally continues and hope no exchange gets hacked this time around.

I am also waiting for another bit of drama that will take the price down as it has been happening everytime already. If it happens, then for me personally it won't be that big of a deal since I anticipate on these things to happen as a trader. It means profit. I am sure other regular traders won't mind a massive correction as well. But we'll see what happens. Right now the focus is pointed at having all exchanges operate above the $1000 price level.

I think that it would be silly not to expect the price to dip, an increase of 40%ish without any justified reason? I think this end of the year bull run will not be happening again next year come December 31st, I think American exchanges are going to see a lot more selling than buying because of the new anticipated tax break laws

Though we are still under the Big Cap, that might be an matter of hours before we crush that huge milestone. However, I think there will be an awesome resistance at the 1000$ point. But once we'll have broke that, we might see 1100$ about a week later I think. But before which never seen before crash ?

Just noticed the price is $995 and my exchange website Unocoin has stopped buying bitcoins (as there is a price error). Is it the same case with other exchange websites too? I hope the price remains the same tomorrow as well as I need to sell my coins which I bought at $950.

In order to avoid hacking news ruining the rally, I advice storing coins in a safe and sound manner OUTSIDE of the EXCHANGE.

I could not stress enough the importance of not trusting in the exchanges, remember what has happened basically to all the exchanges, eventually they get hacked and there is a risk of loss of coins.
Please, do not put your trust in online wallets as well as they can be compromised.

If you are looking for selling bitcoins, consider also diversification into Monero along with fiat money.

Mine are on a paper wallet for 2 or 3 years now :P

Hell yeah, that should be a given for anyone who's been on the crypto scene for more than a few months.  Currently that's not a problem for me, as I'm not using any exchanges--not even Yobit.  I can't find a good place to buy bitcoin with USD that doesn't make you sign over your firstborn child to the devil.

$1000.  Whoop-whoop-whoop!!!  This is the highest it's been since I actually started owning bitcoin.  Pretty damn cool.

Absolutely. All my coins have been in offline paper wallets since I lost 50 coins to MtGox. Never again.

If your private keys have never been exposed to the internet, they can't possibly be hacked.

Trusting some exchange or wallet program runs against the very raison d'etre of Bitcoin, trustlessness.

Same here.  It's a good feeling, both because of the unrealized profits and because it vindicates my investment thesis.

Vindication is a dangerous feeling in investing.  I'm still hodling, and don't think we are close to the top.  Institutional interest in BTC as an asset class is nearing an inflection point...

How many times exchanges got hacked and the price fall to gorge?
I won't store my btc into any exchange as they are the first target of hackers. :D
