The year 2017 promises to be a really Happy New year for Bitcoin users, beginning with a sharp rise of the Bitcoin price to $1000.

On the first day of 2017, Bitcoin’s price reached $1,000. On January 1, Bitcoin price reached $1,000 at the Bitfinex exchange, and two hours later, the same price for Bitcoin was seen on Bitstamp.
For the second time in history Bitcoin’s price has risen above $1,000. A possible jump of the BTC price was first predicted in the beginning of December 2016, when Bitcoin’s price reached $800. Moreover, Saxo Bank’s 'Outrageous Predictions' for 2017 stated that the Bitcoin price may triple and rise up to the level of $2,100.

It was starting to be a good start to the year until I don't have any bitcoin left now because of some misfortune on my side with only 3 days into the new year.
Good that bitcoin price is steady and rising so hopefully things will turn around in my favor. :-\

Is there any method in this madness? It definitely is a very happy year for the holders, with the current price over $1100 now.
Whether it is sustainable is an altogether different question.

It will go up till 2000 and than back to 1000-1500 throughout the year.

I think I remember that same quotation (or ones very similar to it) being made at dollar parity, $10, $33, $100 etc.   :) 

As long as there are improvements, decreases in new supply (the halving) etc, and increases in utility, the price will continue to rise.

We are still in the initial long term appreciation of bitcoin, with more people joining in the party, bitcoin with its limited supply will go further higher, a lot higher. Hope this year we'll get to $2000.
