If you are talking about blockchain.info, this is the wrong section. If you are talking about bitcoin core, it doesn't need an API key. I would think the service section, I think you or a mod could move it. You might also ask their support section for a key for testing. Perhaps they have such keys. Over the past year or so they've been tightening up on who they will give an API key. It needs to be a legitimate use case. Like you said this makes it difficult to test it out. I recommend you try applying again and provide as much info as you can, or contact their support or twitter that you are looking to get an API key for testing their service. My suspicion is that they are trying to prevent people from using their free service to create gambling sites, or predatory sites to steal others bitcoins.
Also there are other API services you could try or use bitcoind JSON-RPC. Good luck! Title: Re: Now that you need to request an API key from blockchain with a valid URL how... Post by: mobnepal on January 04, 2017, 09:27:43 AM Blocktrail also have api and it is free you can try them however i have successfully got my api from blockchain.info wallet few months back, they will just check url to be sure that their wallet/api are not being used by any scam projects.
You can try blocktrail api without getting domain/url verified. Block.io is another alternative but they have very low limit for free account. Post by: Patatas on August 25, 2018, 11:35:58 AM can an api key to work on multiple websites. have someone tested ? That totally depends on the website. I don't think blockchain.com gives that provision because before giving you the access to their API, the check your website manually and allow requests from the same origin I guess. You can't use the same API key validated for one website on others. I could be wrong though. |
